Riina was the last head of the Commission/Cupola, so he was the last boss of bosses. After Riina Provenzano did rule Cosa Nostra, but the Cupola was defunct.
There were some attempts to re-organize the commission on a provincial level, like Benedetto Capizzi did in 2008, or maybe Settimo Mineo in later years in the Palermo province, but the higher up inter-provincial commission with representatives from each province, maybe is really defunct.
