I finished a rewatch of Banshee last week (one of the most underrated shows of all time imo). Now I'm close to finishing a rewatch of Hannibal (one of my favorite horror-adjacent shows...still can't believe they got away with showing some of that stuff on primetime tv lol). Next up is a rewatch of the Cinemax show Quarry (another hugely underrated show few people seem to give a damn about). After Quarry (which is more like a miniseries) I'm going to start a rewatch of all six seasons of Oz.

I rewatched OZ myself during the Christmas holidays. Had been too long and that's an underrated show. HBO's best before The Sopranos IMO.

Banshee's fantastic. It's ridiculous and campy ultra-violence on paper, but at the same time it's somehow emotional and dramatic as well. Truly a one-of-a-kind series.

It's hard to beat The Wire and The Sopranos imho, but Oz is definitely one of the top HBO series afaic.

THE OFFER

The behind-the-scenes story of Albert S. Ruddy producing THE GODFATHER. I don't know which parts are fact and which parts are fiction but it's still an enjoyable story. Embellishments for dramatic purposes come with the territory and a 100% complete accurate telling shouldn't be expected by the audience. The cast was terrific with the likes of Miles Teller, Juno Temple, Burn Gorman, and Dan Fogler all dealing out heavyweight title performances. However, Matthew Goode as Paramount head Robert Evans still manages to outdo them all. Each episode was engaging and seemed to fly by, even at a runtime of almost an hour a piece. It rekindled my love of the film, which I rewatched today. It also motivated me to dust off my copy of the novel which I've had for a few years but never picked up. Just started today!

8/10

Amen to that! Much of their shows I don't care too. Too much politics goes into their products.

Giacalone, I'm watching this now know you are a fan of his work ! Hopefully you guys can also watch it soon.

The Hour of the Wolf:
Rutger Hauer - Like Tears in Rain
NTR October 15, 2024
All documentaries

2024
Five years after Rutger Hauer's death, his goddaughter Sanna Fabery de Jonge makes 'Like Tears in Rain'. Filled with previously unseen private images, the documentary paints an intimate picture of the Dutch actor's life and his strong desire for freedom and adventure.

About this documentary
Rutger Hauer played in more than 200 films and had leading roles in Blade Runner , Turks Fruit , Nighthawks , The Hitcher and Soldaat van Oranje . He was extremely closed about his private life. With unique never-before-seen images shot by Hauer himself, we see the actor as he really was in Like Tears in Rain : a headstrong and gentle man with exceptional affection for his friends, who embraced life with his great love Ineke Hauer-Ten Cate. In addition to various intimates, Paul Verhoeven, Monique van de Ven, Anton Corbijn, Whoopi Goldberg, Mickey Rourke also share their memories of Rutger Hauer.

Director: Sanna Fabery de Jonge

I've yet to check out Cobra Kai's Part 1 of S6. I wanted to wait until at least Part 2 was ready and then binge it. Gonna check it out tomorrow
