Majirat, I don't see you calling out all of your pedophile politicians and celebrities visiting Epstein Island and all the other horrendous things the government does. Tommy Gambino was an angel compared to any politician out there today and even before.

He lived his entire life on your dime and the dime of his criminal father and father in laws victims. He didn’t immigrate, work his way up thru the Italian slums selling newspapers as a 5 year old and make a living breaking his back like 1000s of his victims. Sorry, you live a life of crime, when you die you’re still a criminal you don’t get a pass from me. My two cents.

No, he was a member due to his family, but all his money, or almost all, came from legitimate income. He did donate millions to charity and hospitals, but it all came from his business earnings. He did not live on my dime, your dime, or anyone else's. As for Carlo Gambino, him and his peers made most of theirs through things like bootlegging and later gambling. There was drugs sold way back when, and stealing. Let's at least be honest in discussing it. Not everyone back then was going to sell newspapers for small change, work menial jobs, then grow old and die broke.

His legitimate businesses came through criminal ways. He was a scumbag criminal through and through. It's amazing how some of you here obviously idolize these people and defend them at every chance you get.

Says the one who calls himself Mafia 101, nobody idolizes him, just that people who are supposed to be role models, ie, people in the upper world like politicians, businessmen, and the church are far worse and full of parasites.

Nobody here is disputing that, but this thread is about Tommy Gambino; what has the government and whatever you are saying have to do with people being critical of him?

They did once, although for several years only.

People have the right to criticize him, and we also have the right to point out how he wasn't that bad in the grand scheme of things. So yes what the institution that pursue these people do themselves is very relevant and has everything to do with it.

And I wouldn't call 5 years "several" years either, especially when he lived the rest of his adult life in luxury and enjoying the fruits of both organized crime and legitimate businesses, which isn't that much different and in many ways just as cutthroat as the other.

Liggio I've quickly figured out that you're a little slow but for the umpteenth time my username doesn't idolize the mafia and to think it does shows what room temperature IQ you have. And as Dwalin2011 pointed out the government has nothing to do with what we're talking about. You think that if someone is painting these monsters as what they truly are when others are trying to paint them as good people that they support all other kinds of heinous acts.

We all get it you're some anti government conspiracy theorist nut but shut the fuck up about it. You don't need to bring it up in every single post.

Well then keep your holier-than-thou judgment to yourself. Nobody except brainwashed imbeciles the likes of you care about him ultimately pulling a fast one on the government and laughing from the grave. I think I'll get me a poster of Tommy Gambino and hang it on the wall next to other gangsters like Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld.

It's not a holier than thou attitude you're just so far up these guys asses it appears that way when all I or anyone else is doing is recognizing them for what they actually are.

I apologize Liggio for not calling out anyone but a member of the Mafia. I thought this was about the mafia, not the other groups you mentioned.

He was an uomo d'onore so he was part of an evil empire, but I think to his people he was very generous and he wasn't a violent guy.

Gotta wonder about the people in the comments judging him. Truth be known, they're probably worse people than he could ever be and just wish they had what he had.

I don't think they wish they had what he had, but it is possible. I do think the judging of him took a wrong turn on here, a few people do have a holier than thou attitude. Things like "he was part of an evil empire" are also silly.

Jace, what I mean is that the vast majority of us would cut corners to get wealthy if we could, no way would we be toiling away our lives at some miserable job, grinding day in and day out if we didn't have to. I highly doubt anyone here are some kind of Mother Teresas. I know I wouldn't.

I find it amazing that anyone who can rationalize he wasn't anything less than a criminal because he may not be as deadly as others. He didn't just cut corners, he stole, conned and intimidated his way into big money and went to jail for it, lost his companies and forfeited tons of "stolen" money because of it. Thats a criminal anyway you look at it.

You're crazy, and see yourself as a saint. Even LE called him a gentleman. He was all class. If not for him being a Gambino relative he would never have gone to prison.

To be honest what Thomas Gambino did was standard business practices in the business/corporate world. He just happened to be a Gambino relative and a member of organized crime. It's a very cutthroat world, ever bit as cutthroat as the Mafia, they just don't use guns.

Being a gentleman doesn't eliminate the fact he was a convicted criminal. I'm just stating the facts. Everyone has a right to their opinion Jace whether you agree with it or not.

He's a convicted felon. That being said, I'd trade shoes with him in a heartbeat. Now, if he got out of prison and tried to get a job in the same industry, not create another company but go to work for someone, I bet people would be lining up and he'd have his choice of which company would hire him due to his knowledge of the inner workings and connections. If I was convicted of Medicare fraud, nobody's hiring me back into my profession once I got out. He did what he had to do and died peacefully. Sounds like a winner to me.

I highly doubt that he needed a job when he got out of prison. He was no brokester, and those fines didn't financially ruin him. Majirat, quit your judgment, nobody cares.

Liggio, it’s not a judgement it’s statung facts sorry if that doesn’t fit your narrative. Btw I didn’t ask nor do seek approval of my opinions so no one caring means nothing to me. But feel free to counter anything I post, with facts. You simply saying I’m wrong is not a fact, the fact is he’s a convicted person. A criminal. I never said he wasn’t deserving of second chances or more. I think most are, not all but most. Nothing changes the fact he’s a criminal, not even dying changes that.

Please respond with facts that prove me wrong.
