Fugitive Belgian criminal Koen van S. arrested in Spain !
Spanish police have arrested a fugitive Belgian criminal in Rojales (Alicante) who was wanted by Belgian and Dutch authorities. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2018 for the kidnapping and torture of a Dutch florist.
Koen Van S. (45), former leader of the infamous Gang of 700 million, was sentenced to seven years in prison in Antwerp in 2018 for the kidnapping and hostage-taking of Dutch florist and drug trafficker Johannes W. Van S. was already incarcerated in Netherlands, because he was arrested near Breda in April 2017 with 3 kilos of speed and 5,000 euros in cash.
In collaboration with the Spanish police, the investigative services managed to trace him to a luxury villa in the city of Rojales (Alicante) where he lived with his family. He was arrested when he left his home.
'Ndrangheta According to the Spanish police, Koen van S is part of a criminal organization that is active throughout Europe and has ties to the Italian mafia clan 'Ndrangheta. Van S. is considered 'very violent and dangerous' by the European authorities.
Police in the Netherlands have arrested two men who may have committed an attack on a restaurant in Antwerp around 3 a.m. on Saturday night. An explosion burned down the ground floor of the restaurant. The Antwerp police do not rule out a link with drug violence.
International drug file Restaurant De Nachtegaal is run by Belgian former basketball professional Willy Steveniers (85). His son Nathan (36) is one of the main suspects in a large international drug file in which the fugitive Dutchman 'Bolle Jos' Leijdekkers is also central. Bolle Jos is held responsible for the import of 1,340 kilos of cocaine, together with Nathan Steveniers.
Record load On October 27, 2020, a record load of more than 11,000 kilos of pure cocaine was found among old iron in sea containers in the port of Antwerp. This was the largest seizure of cocaine ever in Belgium. At the end of September 2020, former state policeman Willy van Mechelen, Lucio Aquino and thirteen other suspects were arrested during Operation Costa , including Nathan Steveniers. Sebastian and Nathan Steveniers are said to be leading figures among the hooligans of FC Antwerp
The organization is said to have had a turnover of 195 million euros.
Large fire Last night's explosion took place around 3 a.m. on Middelheimlaan in Antwerp and caused a fire that destroyed the entire ground floor, except for the kitchen. The damage is extensive. No one was injured.
A suspicious car with Dutch license plates was checked near the restaurant just before the explosion. After the fire was reported, the police immediately made a link. The car was traced in the Netherlands and the two occupants were subsequently arrested.
Crystal meth lab busts becoming more common in the Netherlands, police say Police in the Netherlands took down 120 synthetic drug laboratories during the first 11 months of the year, including 20 used to produce crystal meth. By comparison, Dutch police found 15 crystal meth labs during the same timeframe in both 2021 and 2022, police said in a statement released on Wednesday.
Though highly addictive, crystal meth is not believed to be used by many people in the Netherlands, but it is more widely used elsewhere in Europe. Drug traffickers in the Netherlands are increasingly using the smuggling channels they established to distribute ecstasy as a means for trafficking crystal meth, a police representative told NOS.
The revenue generated by crystal meth sales is also greater, as is the profit margin. "At 7,500 euros per kilo, the wholesale price is four times higher than that of ecstasy," said André van Rijn, a police officer who helps dismantle labs, to NOS. Van Rijn expects investigators will continue to find an increasing number of crystal meth labs as a result.
Police have had to dedicate more resources in the last five years since arresting a Mexican drug trafficker who went by the nickname "Pablo Icecobar," a reference to notorious cocaine trafficker Pablo Escobar and "ice," another street name for crystal meth. He was taken into custody when a drug lab in Moerdijk was found in the spring of 2019. He was convicted by the District Court of Den Bosch this year. He was sentenced to serve nearly 15 years in prison.
The police are now launching a new effort in coordination with the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) to help investigate the the source of raw materials, new production processes, and estimates about the amount of synthetic drugs that each lab was able to yield. "When we dismantle drug labs, we almost always find empty barrels with remnants of raw materials. Or we find the raw materials at a location that we can link to the lab,” Van Rijn said in a statement. The NFI will then be tasked with compiling data that can be used in prosecutions.
"Drug trafficking often involves cash and criminals do not always keep auditable accounts. We can then use the NFI information sheets to calculate what has been earned. That is important to know, because then we can take away the criminally earned assets," Van Rijn said.
The additional forensics work is becoming more necessary as drug traffickers figure out new methods to work with different raw materials when supplies to previously used items are cut off or restricted. This leads to new yields in the production process, making it more difficult for investigators to calculate a drug lab's capacity.
"The police and the NFI cannot rely on calculations from surrounding countries,” said Van Rijn. "The Netherlands unfortunately sets trends in this area. Our country is the production leader in the field of drugs."
The police said the Ministry of Justice and Security has made it easier to restrict access to raw materials more rapidly, making it increasingly difficult and complicated for drug traffickers to acquire raw materials. "They have to invent and import new raw materials with which they then have to make the necessary substances for drugs themselves," said Jorrit van den Berg from the NFI.
'Now brother of Bolle Jos arrested in Turkey' Edited: Yesterday, 11:34 PMYesterday, 10:35 PMinland _ AMSTERDAM - The Turkish authorities are said to have once again arrested a close family member of the fugitive criminal 'Bolle Jos' Leijdekkers.
It is said to be the brother of the 32-year-old top criminal: Wilhelmus Adrianus. Het Parool reports this based on 'several insiders'. The Turkish authorities themselves have not yet announced the arrest. The brother was arrested for 'money laundering crime services', the newspaper wrote.
Leijdekkers' father, mother and sister were previously arrested.
Bolle Jos itself has been on the National Investigation List and the EU Most Wanted list since 2022. Dutch and Turkish authorities have been trying to catch the most wanted fugitive for a long time, because he is allegedly guilty of large-scale cocaine trafficking, extreme violence and money laundering. There is a reward of 200,000 euros for the golden tip that leads to his arrest.
Astrid Holleeder: 'Hopefully a life sentence for my brother will be a signal to major criminals' January 9, 2024
Astrid Holleeder indicated to RTL Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon that she was relieved about the final sentence of life in prison for her brother Willem. The Supreme Court upheld his previous conviction before the Court today.
Straight "I am relieved because justice has been done to all victims," ??the former lawyer says on the RTL Boulevard website. 'But also intensely sad. For him, he is and remains my brother, whom I also loved," she responded after the Supreme Court's ruling on Tuesday.
'But also for all the others he has dragged into his evil deeds. And quite a few of whom are now also facing hopelessness.'
Astrid Holleeder testified in the Vandros case against her own brother, as did her sister Sonja, and Holleeder's ex Sandra den Hartog.
Signal "I just hope that it is a signal to everyone who thinks that these types of serious criminal offenses go unpunished," Astrid responds. 'When we see how many young people are shamelessly used for these kinds of acts by the rich, big boys, this is a good sign. Even the big boys can't get away with it.'
Assignment The court sentenced Holleeder to life imprisonment in June 2022 for, among other things, ordering the murder of five people. Six men died, including her brother-in-law Cor van Hout and Willem Endstra. At RTL Boulevard: 'I hope that all relatives can now find some peace.'
19.3 million euros worth of iPhones and iPads stolen during a raid in Woerden January 12, 2024
Sunday evening's police raid on Kattegat in Woerden led to a large haul of stolen iPhones and iPads. The police reported on Friday that 19.3 million euros worth of iPhones and iPads were stolen from a company at Schiphol.
Once the truck and trailer had reached the warehouse, the police entered the warehouse with a SWAT team. Four suspects were arrested. A fifth suspect fled and hid in a ditch near a meadow along the A12. With the use of the police helicopter, this suspect was also arrested by the arrest team.
How the theft at the company at Schiphol took place and what the roles of the arrested suspects are are currently being investigated by the police. The five suspects between the ages of 23 and 43 have been brought before the examining magistrate and will remain in pre-trial detention for longer.
A detainee who the police linked to Ridouan Taghi's network was able to make unlimited and uncontrolled calls to the outside world due to a blunder in the penitentiary in Krimpen aan den IJssel. According to the Algemeen Dagblad , it was a suspect who was a flight risk and had been placed in an extra strict prison regime.
The issue occurred in the period after September 2023, after the arrest of Ridouan Taghi's eldest son. In the Netherlands, dozens of suspects were then told that their GVM status had been increased (GVM stands for detainees with a flight and/or social risk).
This means that they will be placed in a stricter regime and will be monitored more closely. One of the restrictions is that they are allowed to make short calls and only under supervision. All telephone conversations are listened to live by security staff.
In the Krimpen aan den IJssel PI there are great tensions surrounding at least two men who have been convicted of liquidations. One of them was attacked by a group of fellow detainees in mid-December. Also - due to the actions of a guard - a detainee burst into someone's cell with a knife. The person in that cell has been under serious threat for several years.

@H did you know that New York's first name was New Amsterdam? I read some article few days ago regarding Dutch OC and it reminded me regarding that claim..
Mongol General: Conan, what is best in life?
Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
@H did you know that New York's first name was New Amsterdam? I read some article few days ago regarding Dutch OC and it reminded me regarding that claim..
Ofcourse walking through NY you see many references to the Dutch, Utrecht Avenue for example.
Brooklyn a settlement southeast of New Amsterdam was given the same name as the town southeast of Amsterdam in The Netherlands: Breukelen.
Harlem was given the same name as the dutch town Haarlem etc...
New Netherland as a province was founded in 1624 and claimed as the area between the 38th and 42nd parallel. It is now the region containing the states: New York , New Jersey and Delaware.
Karim B., alias Taxi, is considered the leader of the Mocro mafia Taghi's archrival arrested in Spain author avatar JOHN VAN DEN HEUVEL
Modified: 37 min ago1 hour agoi nland _ MARBELLA - The Spanish police have arrested Ridouan Taghi's arch-rival, the Dutch Moroccan Karim B., alias Taxi, in Marbella. He is considered one of the leaders of the Mocro mafia.
Karim B., whose brother Samir B., alias Scarface, was liquidated in Spain in 2014, had to fear from several sides. PGP conversations showed that the murder gang of Taghi, Rico the Chilean and Raffaele Imperiale were fanatically hunting B.. They consider him an archrival and planned an attack.
According to the judiciary, they jointly targeted Karim. Imperiale, who would later defect to the Italian justice system, forwarded the locations where Karim would exercise four times a week and then have something to eat at the bar. It was the opportune moment to kill him, the criminals messaged each other via PGP telephones, according to the justice department.
Drug gang In the meantime, since 2018, the Spanish police have also been serious about Karim B., who is considered the successor leader of a drug gang involved in the import of coke and money laundering. The gang operates from Malaga, Barcelona, ??Melilla and Marbella. Consignments of coke were also transported to other countries, including the Netherlands.

The action against B. is in the news in Spain. In addition to the Dutchman, five more suspects were arrested. Movable and immovable property worth fifty million euros has been seized. According to justice in Spain, the criminals used underground banking according to the Hawalla system to pay for coke transports. This is a financial system outside regular financial institutions to conceal the origin of the money.

The murder of Scarface - the brother of the now arrested Karim B. - in 2014 led to several fierce outbreaks of violence between his accomplices and Ridouan Taghi's group in the following years. The feud between the two groups continues to this day.
This is pretty big news Scarface Bouyakhrichan was a legendary figure in the milieu with links to the old penoze.
'Ninjas' According to the judiciary, a plan was also hatched to commit a knife attack on Karim Bouyakhrichan in Dubai. That is less risky there than with a firearm. The Italian mafia boss Raffaele Imperiale wants to do that job with the help of some “ninjas”, but hitmen are ultimately unable to trace him.
Raised in disadvantage and previously accused: Khalid Kasem continues to bounce back The life of talk show host Khalid Kasem has been marked by setbacks and criticism. It was announced on Friday that he will temporarily resign from his duties as a presenter at BNNVara. He is under fire now that recordings have been leaked of conversations between him and Peter R. de Vries, in which he admits to having bribed an official. Yet Kasem has always struggled to his feet in the past.
There is a blanket of darkness surrounding Khalid Kasem, especially now that the presenter of Khalid & Sophie has immediately stopped his TV work after some audio recordings surfaced via AD. In this letter, the former lawyer admits to having accepted 8,000 euros in cash from a client to bribe a civil servant . Extremely reprehensible.
Conversations about Taghi It is not the first time that there has been a commotion surrounding Khalid: the AD reported in 2020 that he may have leaked information to top criminal Ridouan Taghi. A gang member spoke in an encrypted message about 'Mussa's brother', and one of Khalid's brothers is called Musa. Moreover, Khalid and Taghi were in class together for years in primary school.
Enough evidence was never found for Khalid's alleged leaking, but he was not exonerated. The big question, however, is: will the leaked audio recordings still kill him? “It is quite likely that conversations have been recorded that are also about Taghi,” says communications expert Lars Duursma in the podcast De Communicados .
Triangle relationship It's a strange thing, says Lars. “I think one of the most fascinating parts of this case is the triangular relationship between Peter R. de Vries, Khalid Kasem and Ridouan Taghi. Khalid was suspected of leaking sensitive matters to Taghi and Peter R. de Vries was the confidant of the key witnesses in the trial against Taghi.”
Khalid, Peter and his son Royce de Vries ran a law firm together. Lars: “Well, what's going on here? On May 28, 2020, Jan Meeus and Wouter Laumans released all kinds of decrypted messages in NRC Handelsblad, including: 'I just spoke to the man who helps Devil. Mussa's brother.'”
One day later This decrypted message from a gang member is said to be about Khalid. “And a day later, Peter R. de Vries resigned from the law firm. He said on Twitter: 'My job is done. It's time for a new phase.' (…) I took a look at Royce's book, because it is a logbook by Peter R. about this period, and there is nothing about it at all.”
CRIME PETER R. DE VRIES MURDER KRYSTIAN M. AMSTERDAM ASSASSINATION » MORE TAGS TUESDAY, 30 JANUARY 2024 - 11:21
Suspect in Peter R. de Vries murder claims he was pressured into involvement The man suspected of having acted as an intermediary in the murder of Peter R. de Vries said on Tuesday that he had been put under pressure. “I did not want this, but sent messages under pressure,” said Krystian M. in the court bunker in Amsterdam-Osdorp during the murder trial.
He did not want to explain what that pressure consisted of and what kind of messages he forwarded. “That has to do with my safety,” he said. It concerns “disturbing things” that were allegedly said to him. “I felt like I had no choice. If I could do it again, I would have done it differently.” The 64-year-old De Vries was shot on July 6, 2021, on Lange Leidsedwarsstraat in the center of Amsterdam. He was followed after he left the television production studio on Leidseplein for his appearance on RTL Boulevard and was shot soon after. He died nine days later from his injuries.
M. told De Vries’ relatives that he was sorry and apologized. He said the victim statement that daughter Kelly and son Royce made last week had moved him. That is why he decided to explain something about his role. However, M. refused to respond to further questions from the court.
After his short statement, M. turned around at the request of De Vries’ relatives, who were sitting at the back of the courtroom. M. took off his hood and looked at them. Shortly afterward, he turned back and pulled the hood back over his head. M. always wears a hood and face mask in the courtroom to avoid being recognized.
The 28-year-old M. previously hinted that he has been under severe pressure. Then, too, he did not want to say from where the threats came.
Investigators speculate that the alleged organized crime leader Ridouan Taghi gave the order for the crime reporter’s murder. Taghi is the primary suspect in a sprawling criminal case about a series of street-level assassinations, attempted killings, and plots to commit murder. The case has been randomly designated as the Marengo procedure.
De Vries was a confidante of Nabil B., the key witness in that case.
NOS News • Today, 11:30 am • Amended today, 12:26 Three life sentences for the murder of Peter R. de Vries
The Public Prosecution Service has demanded life sentences in the highly secured court in Amsterdam-Osdorp against three suspects in the murder of crime journalist Peter R. de Vries. It concerns the shooter, the driver and the 'murder broker'. Prison sentences ranging from 3 to 21 years have been demanded against the six other suspects. The court will make its ruling in June.
The Public Prosecution Service already demanded a life sentence in 2022 against the suspected shooter Delano G. (24) and driver Kamil E. (37), but the trial had to be repeated, partly because the justice department had called a new witness and because a judge had gone abroad. has moved.
The third main suspect, Krystian M. (28), is seen as the murder broker. He is said to have linked the client and those who carried out the murder. "He expressly controlled the place and time of the attack. He must be held very seriously for this," says the Public Prosecution Service.
The moment when the public prosecutor, at the request of the court, unrecognizably on screen, demands a life sentence:
"This case concerns the irreversible fact that these suspects robbed Peter R. de Vries of his life and caused untold grief to the surviving relatives," the public prosecutor explained. "With the murder of Peter R. de Vries, the suspects have caused irreparable suffering and caused an unprecedented shock in society."
The six other suspects are said to have been aware of the murder, who helped prepare it or filmed the seriously injured De Vries immediately after the attack.
These images have been distributed via social media, according to the Public Prosecution Service to sow as much fear as possible among the population. The Public Prosecution Service sees the images as part of the murder plot. The fact that there are suspects who say that they did not know who De Vries was does not make the murder any less serious, according to the Public Prosecution Service.
Konrad W. (31) heard a 17-year prison sentence demanded against him. The fact that he withdrew as a shooter is not a reason for the Public Prosecution Service to reduce his sentence. If it is up to the Public Prosecution Service, Gerower M. (27) and Erickson O. (29) will have to spend 21 years in prison. They are seen as preparers, spotters and filmers.
Not cooperating According to the Public Prosecution Service, Ludgardo S. (35) knows who the victim was and he knew where and when the attack would take place. He did not want to cooperate with a probation report in this case. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison. The Public Prosecution Service considers it proven that Divainy K. (30) participated in a criminal organization. He had an organizational role, says the public prosecutor. The sentence imposed on him was 8 years and 4 months.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, Christopher W. (28) also knew about the murder plans. He was arrested in another case and was in custody when De Vries was murdered. Only his imprisonment prevented him from participating in the murder plot, the Public Prosecution Service says. If it is up to the justice system, he should spend 3 years in prison.
In the explanation provided by the Public Prosecution Service, the public prosecutor explained whether there was a criminal organization that aims to commit crimes and terrorism. Because a video was distributed immediately after the attack, the Public Prosecution Service has always said that there was also a terrorist intent.
A criminal organization exists when at least two people participate in it. According to the public prosecutor, this has been proven. A crime with terrorist intent cannot be proven, because according to the Public Prosecution Service this can only be proven in the case of Krystian M.
Krystian M. expresses regret Two days have been set aside to substantiate the punishment demands, yesterday was the first . Krystian M. was then the first suspect to make a statement. M. addressed De Vries' relatives yesterday. He said he forwarded messages under pressure.
"The sadness will not diminish for you, but I would like to say sorry for what happened," the Pole said in Dutch. He did not go into detail about the pressure, but spoke about "very intense things" that happened against him. were said. Further questions in court were not answered. The Public Prosecution Service today calls his statement "pre-conceived". "We cannot do anything with that at all."
The other suspects have so far remained silent in court. "They did not want to provide an explanation, they did not want to be held accountable. They made an indifferent and insensitive impression. A huge contrast with the grief of the relatives," says the public prosecutor.
Client Crime reporter Peter R. de Vries (64) was shot in the center of Amsterdam on July 6, 2021. Shortly before, De Vries was in a broadcast of RTL Boulevard and was on his way to his car.
He died nine days later . Less than an hour after the attack, Delano G. (23) and Kamil E. (36) were arrested. G. is said to have killed De Vries, E. is said to have driven the getaway car.
It has never become clear why the murder was committed. De Vries was a confidante of the key witness in the Marengo trial. The Public Prosecution Service says that it has been convincingly demonstrated that the murder was related to his role as a confidential counselor. According to the Public Prosecution Service, there is a series of murders. The lawyer and brother of the key witness were previously murdered.
The main suspect in that case is drug criminal Ridouan Taghi. He is not a suspect in this case, but the Public Prosecution Service takes into account that he is the client. Taghi has always denied this.
'Godmother of Amsterdam' arrested in Colombia, rocket launcher and weapons seized January 30, 2024
Police in Rotterdam found a large quantity of heavy firearms on Monday morning, including a rocket launcher that was ready for use. Six suspects have been arrested in connection with this. A woman who headed the alleged crime organization has been arrested in Colombia. She is nicknamed the 'Godmother of Amsterdam'. It is said to be the previously convicted Aura C.
The discovery stems from an investigation conducted in collaboration with the countries Colombia and Spain, based on intercepted and decrypted messages on the crypto platform Sky ECC. With this information, investigators were able to conclude that a 47-year-old woman with a Dutch/Colombian nationality was involved in drug trafficking from South America.
The woman was probably directly involved in the import of an intercepted shipment of 230 kilos of cocaine into Spain. In the criminal environment she is described as a major player in the cocaine trade who earns a lot of money from it. She would also be called the 'godmother of Amsterdam', the police said in a message on Tuesday, in which they reported this action. In 2017, the woman was convicted of preparing drug smuggling, according to the police.
After a few months of intensive detective work, the police had enough information to arrest and search properties on Monday. On Monday, January 29, the 47-year-old woman was arrested in Colombia at the request of the Dutch authorities. Where a house search was also carried out.
In the Netherlands, five suspects were arrested in Amsterdam, Zoetermeer, Schiedam and Ridderkerk. This concerns one woman and four men aged 29 to 62 with Dutch and Nigerian nationality. A number of these arrests were made by the Special Interventions Service and the Team Parate Unit from Rotterdam.
In total, the police seized more than 25 firearms and associated ammunition. Just like kilos of cocaine, more than 400,000 euros in cash, cars, jewelry and data carriers.
The men will be brought before the examining magistrate in Rotterdam on February 1, 2024.
The newspaper Het Parool reports that the woman is probably Aura C. , one of the broker sisters from Amsterdam who were convicted in 2017 for large-scale cocaine trafficking. The sisters were then given 4.5 years and almost 3.5 years in prison. They are said to have controlled a drug organization and provided housing through their real estate company Key Apartments. Aura C. was previously also imprisoned in Colombia for drug trafficking.
Liquidations more often take place within one's own criminal circle than as a result of conflicts with the enemy camp. For example, because of talking to the police, theft or poorly performing criminal tasks. This is evident from a study by Police & Science. Four out of five liquidations are cocaine-related. The number of liquidations has been decreasing since 2017. It does not appear that shooters are getting younger.
The researchers counted 57 liquidations from 2016 to 2021. Of all cases of murder and manslaughter in the Netherlands, one in twelve is a liquidation. This shows that most of these types of crimes in the Netherlands come from a different source. The number of liquidations has also decreased since 2017.
The motive behind the danger of being liquidated often comes from the 'own camp' than from the 'enemy camp'. The analysis of the police's so-called murder and manslaughter file shows that less than forty percent of the motives have to do with liquidations of a competitor from the criminal environment, while more than half were aimed at someone from their own partnership. or around it.
The most common motives for liquidating someone from 'one's own camp' are breach of contract, theft (of money or drugs), talking to the police and the judiciary or to someone in the criminal environment.
This research shows that shooters of liquidations are exclusively men with an average age of 29 years old. The average age shows a downward trend, but that does not mean that there are increasingly younger shooters. The number of older shooters is decreasing and the number of young shooters is not increasing. So shooters of liquidations are not getting younger.
Police arrest Polish MMA fighter for murder February 3, 2024
On Saturday morning, an arrest team in Schijndel in Brabant arrested a 43-year-old Polish man on suspicion of a double murder in Poland. According to the police, the man is a renowned former MMA fighter (MMA stands for mixed martial arts). In Poland he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a man and a woman.
In his hometown of Bedzin, on New Year's Eve 2005, he hit a man and a woman in their home several times on the head with a punch and a sharp-edged object. The two subsequently died as a result of the attack.
Two days after his act, he also set fire to the couple's apartment, after which he fled.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2019, which was declared irrevocable in 2021. The Polish authorities informed the Dutch police that he was hiding here under a false identity. He may have worked in construction.
Polish authorities issued a European Arrest Warrant on June 20, 2021, so that foreign investigative authorities could start working on the case.
The ENFAST network is the European network of specialized police teams dedicated to the detection of fugitives. These teams provide each other with assistance. FAST Poland sought cooperation with FAST NL in October 2021.
'Karim B. tried to siphon off money in Thailand' February 3, 2024
Karim “Taxi” B., who was arrested in Marbella, Spain at the end of January , tried to hide from the police and rival criminals, including in the Dominican Republic and Thailand. He did this according to various Spanish media after his brother Samir “Scarface” B. was murdered on the Costa del Sol in 2014. And in 2017 there was the deadly attack in Marrakech, where a judge's son was mistakenly killed.
Thailand Karim's brother “Scarface” B. headed a large network that imported cocaine into Europe. Karim B. fled to the Dominican Republic after 2017 and invested in real estate there. He also tried to do that in Thailand, and in Melilla, the Spanish enclave in Morocco. According to the National Police in Spain, he used the Spanish embassy in Thailand through contacts.
The criminal organization he is suspected of running in Spain is said to have laundered drug money from Spain on an international scale. That Spanish investigation started in June 2018. 172 real estate objects have now been seized by the Spanish authorities.
The Hague The Netherlands has requested the extradition of Karim B. in connection with a drug investigation in The Hague.
The question is whether B. will first go to the Netherlands or will first be tried in Spain.
Het Parool writes that Karim B. has reported himself to the police in Spain and that there is also speculation within the criminal environment about whether B. might make statements. But there is no indication of this.
Chilean In the criminal case about the criminal organization of Rico “Chileen” RV, the justice department stated that that organization planned to liquidate Karim B.. Justice sees this Chilean, together with the Amsterdam Neapolitan Raffaele Imperiale, as allies of Ridouan Taghi. Naouafal “Noffel” F. was also part of this. The latter, RV and Ridouan Taghi are all stuck. Imperiale has made a deal with the judiciary in Italy (it is not yet known whether he has also made statements about Dutch suspects).
Feud Het Parool writes that the underworld feud between the group of the B. brothers and those around Ridouan Taghi on the side of Karim B. also involved the Amsterdammer Danny K .. K. was convicted in 2017 in the so-called Andes investigation for leading a criminal organization, money laundering, threats, attempted serious assault and attempted extortion.
Another rival of Taghi's group was Mustapha F., who is currently in custody in Morocco for money laundering.
Lucas Boom After the murder of Samir B., attacks on people from the group around Danny K. and Karim B followed in 2014 and 2015. For example, in November 2014, martial artist Hans Nijman was liquidated in Beverwijk. In June 2015, Lucas Boom was shot dead in Zaandam and in November 2015 there was a failed assassination attempt on Peter “Pjotr” R in Diemen-Noord. In October 2015, a beacon was placed under the car of Amsterdam criminal Gordon F. , who also belonged to the group of “Scarface”. After B.'s murder, the police warned Gordon F. that he is on a death list (F. was sentenced to six years in prison in April 2022 for shooting a friend while under the influence of cocaine).
The liquidation of Rachid Kotar in Amstelveen was probably also related to the feud.
In 2017, there was a failed attack in a café in Marrakech in which an uninvolved boy was shot dead. Mustapha F. was the owner of that café, and most likely the target in that attack. Several Dutch people, including relatives of Ridouan Taghi, have been convicted of that murder .
Requests in Marengo case rejected by court | Judgment date remains unchanged February 8, 2024 The court in Amsterdam decided on Thursday to only use newly submitted documents by the Public Prosecution Service in the Marengo case as evidence if they are exculpatory. The scheduled date for the case's ruling remains in place.
Requests The court made a number of decisions in the case on Thursday. This follows a scheduled hearing in the extra-secure court De Bunker last Tuesday.
In addition to the decision on the newly submitted documents, requests for retranslations of Moroccan documents, requests to hear witnesses, to conduct research into writing style and a request for the decryption of PGP messages have been rejected.
Chats This included chats between key witness Nabil B. and two other suspects, the Razzouki brothers. At the end of 2017, B. chatted extensively with the Razzouki brothers from detention, but not with Ridouan Taghi, as he had previously stated. This is evident from an official report that was added to the Marengo file by the Public Prosecution Service at the end of January.
Striking in these chats are messages from Saïd Razzouki in which he says that neither he nor the key witness had anything to do with one of the murders in Marengo: a mistaken murder in Utrecht on January 12, 2017.
The now readable chats were sent in the period October to mid-December 2017. That was the time when Nabil B. had already made secret statements, but before the moment he signed his deal with the Public Prosecution Service (on December 27, 2017). .
In 2019, B. admitted to using this phone during a public court hearing. Until now, not all chats on that phone had been made readable.
Verdict The court decided on Thursday to maintain the date of the last hearing in the case on February 14, as well as the date of the verdict on February 27. In the Marengo trial, the Public Prosecution Service demands life in prison against Ridouan Taghi and five co-suspects. According to the Public Prosecution Service, they are responsible for six liquidations, three murder attempts and making preparations for another four liquidations.
Jaouad W.: according to justice, main character in murder organization
The police see Joey (Jaouad) W. (44) , who was placed in pre-trial detention again on Tuesday morning, as one of the main characters in the criminal murder organization also called the 26Koper group. These men are said to have carried out murders on behalf of Ridouan Taghi.
W. is now suspected of involvement in the murders of Mohamed Alarasi (January 20, 2014 in Amersfoort), Rinus Moerer (April 14, 2014 in Steenbergen) and Samir Jabli (December 1, 2014 in Amersfoort).
He may also be prosecuted for the double murder along the A27 highway, at a restaurant near Houten, of Pieter Vos and Jaap Zillig in 2011.
Taghi has not yet been charged with any of these five liquidations.
A breakthrough in the 26Koper investigation were the witness statements of Ebrahim B. who felt so unsafe in the summer of 2015 that he reported to a police station and said that he was seriously threatened by Ridouan Taghi's group. He was interrogated several times by the police. B. indicated that he recognized a man who had previously chased him with the car. He identified that man as a 'hitman' of Taghi, and mentioned the name of Joey, a Surinamese from Nieuwegein.
In 2022 Ebrahim Buzhu, nicknamed 'The Butcher', has been found dead in a burnt-out car in southern Spain.
Delano G., the suspected gunman in the attack on Peter R. de Vries, is a cousin of Joey W.
The Central Netherlands Public Prosecution Service cannot say much about the current investigation into the double murder, because it is currently a 'cold case'. The murdered duo Vos and Zillig appeared to have been active in the drug world for years. According to police, the pair had an appointment at the hotel about narcotics. Ultimately, they were coldly shot right in front of dozens of restaurant guests.
The last hearing in the Marengo liquidation process took place on Wednesday. A number of final requests from lawyers were rejected. A number of suspects also took the opportunity to have the last word.
A final word was spoken by suspect Saïd Razzouki, among others. He is suspected of having been Ridouan Taghi's right-hand man: 'I hope you can give a fair trial.'
One of Razzouki's lawyers, Robert van 't Land, stated that parts of conversations by key witness Nabil B. were missing, making it difficult for the court to form an opinion on his reliability.
Mohamed el A. talked a little longer, writes the court reporter of De Telegraaf, Saskia Belleman, on X: 'I have made statements about my role in this case. That wasn't easy. My fate is in your hands.”
El A. asks the court to take his children into account. His daughter was born in May 2019 while her father was incarcerated, and his son is struggling with his father not being home.
Lawyer Guy Weski says there is no point in saying one last word on behalf of Achraf B.: "Your verdict is probably already on the shelf and what he says will no longer have any influence." Achraf B. only wants to say 'that he has never had access to life and death'.
Judgment in the Marengo case will follow on February 27.
Three men were today convicted on appeal for the murder of Rachid Kotar in December 2019. Jonathan C., previously sentenced to 25 years in prison, received 28 years in prison. Jurviën M., who was acquitted in court, was also sentenced to 28 years in prison by the court. Saifeddine M. also now received a prison sentence of 14 years. The shooters' sentences were higher because the Court also found them guilty of the attempted murder of Kotar's 5-year-old son.
Rachid Kotar was murdered on Thursday, December 12, 2019, in the parking lot of the Health City gym in Amstelveen. He was shot and killed around 5:15 PM when he let his then 5-year-old son get into his car. After the murder, the son literally had to step over his father's dead body when leaving the car.
28-year-old Jonathan C. is said to have been the shooter together with Jurviën M. (22). The third suspect, Saifeddine M . (25), according to the judiciary, was the spotter.
"The proven facts are serious and shocking," the Court stated in its ruling. 'There is a terrifying cold-bloodedness, which is seen as completely unconscionable. The convicts and those around them regarded committing serious criminal offenses as a way of life, just like being in serious crime circles. In addition to retaliation, the punishment is also intended to deter others from committing these types of crimes.
The police counted Kotar as part of the group of Samir 'Scarface' B., who was liquidated in Spain in 2014, and his brother Karim 'Taxi' B..
Alleged arms dealer of Limburg Bandidos died February 18, 2024
The court in Maastricht ended the criminal case against alleged arms dealer Johan K. (42) from Geleen on Friday. The man who, according to justice, was the kingpin in international arms trade and had close ties with motorcycle club Bandidos, died a year ago. That's what De Limburger writes .
Formality K. passed away on February 22, 2023. According to his lawyer Bart Welvaart, due to cardiac arrest. Johan K.'s lawyer was in court in Maastricht on Friday to 'assist' his client. Due to the death of car dealer K., his prosecution was canceled, but the hearing still had to go ahead to formally conclude the case. Lawyer Welvaart calls it 'incomprehensible that this case has been at a standstill for so long'.
Seizure In 2015, the judiciary seized K's cars and luxury goods. He is said to have earned approximately 900,000 euros in criminal assets and the judiciary wants that money back. Because the suspect has died and his case has ended, the heirs are entitled to the seized items.
Action day Johan K. was arrested on May 27, 2015 with fourteen Bandidos members during a major action against motorcycle clubs in Limburg. According to the Public Prosecution Service, K. was the kingpin in the international arms trade. The car dealer was not a member of the motorcycle club, but is said to have close ties with members of the Bandidos.
Weapons arsenal K. was associated with five rocket launchers, seven Kalashnikovs, nine machine guns, 30 small arms, two riot guns, two hand grenades and ammunition found during the action . The weapons were found in garages in Geleen, registered in the name of K.
Trailer camp He is also said to be involved in a drug lab, which was found at the caravan camp in Geleen. K. lived at that trailer park. Johan K. is said to have good contacts with William V. and Marco H. , two leaders of the Bandidos. The weapons that K. would supply to the Bandidos would be sold on, among other things, by members of the motorcycle club.
Phone taps The Bandidos who were arrested in the action, including president Harrie Ramakers , were suspected of membership of a criminal organization, drug trafficking, extortion and involvement in a fight in a bar in Sittard . There would be telephone taps as evidence. In 2021, the court in Maastricht sentenced twelve Bandidos members (chapter Sittard) to years in prison for participating in a criminal organization.
Ongoing case After years of investigation, the police and the judiciary ultimately failed to link the weapons to the Bandidos. This made the Geleen weapons case one in itself and the Bandidos investigation became primarily a case that revolved around extortion, threats and abuse. Johan K. was released and his case has been at a standstill ever since. According to De Limburger, it has never become completely clear how exactly that could happen.
