Man arrested In Holland who will serve 20 years in prison in Italy

A 45-year-old motorist was arrested on the A28 on Saturday after a driver's license check revealed that he was wanted in Italy due to a 20-year prison sentence for committing a life crime.

Forged Polish driver's license
Officers saw a man driving a car on the A28 near Zeist around midnight on Saturday. When they stopped the driver for a routine check, it turned out that he identified himself with a forged Polish driver's license.

Fugitive
Officers then conducted further investigation into the man's identity, which revealed that he was wanted by Italian authorities following a 20-year prison sentence for a life offense conviction in Italy. It is not clear whether it is murder or manslaughter.

The man is currently in custody and will be handed over to authorities in Italy at some point, police said in a press release.
