Theres some activity in Chicago, plenty of it. Also let me tell you there are plenty of action on the streets regarding gambling. Lots of people out there who much rather have a bookie than have a bigger cut of $$$ handed over to the state of Ilinois for their gambling addictions. Fuck the state of Illinois and their greed as they are far worse than any bookie on the streets today. Going through a bookie as a hardcore gambler dealing with straight cash is much better than going online with a credit/debit card or giving a cut to the state government.

You would have to be a fuckin moron to trust the State of Illinois.

Look the mob in Chicago well many rackets have died out. For example hijacking. You cannot hijack trucks anymore, way too much technology GPS and so forth. That was a big racket at one time , not so much anymore. But Gambling, prositution, drugs, even loan sharking will never go away among other things.

RushStreet, with all due respect, thats your "opinion" and you're welcome to you. But after all is said and done, these are only your unsubstantiated opinions on the matter. (No offense, but I seriously doubt any of that, regarding Chicago or even in Detroit for that matter)

Many hijackings weren't forced, they were done with the complicity of truckers. I can see that still happening especially if the economy tanks and truckers feel like they can make more money with organized crime.

truckers are making there monet running drugs and other contraband across borders, so why hijack them? thats peanuts compared to some of the weight there hauling. and you want to be the small time criminal who jacks a truck full of power drills outside chicago but whoopsie its full of sinaloa cartel drugs, not this guy.

Okay, fair enough. My comment still stands though, many truckers were in on it back in the day.

Unfortunately for the mob, GPS trackers destroyed the lucrative truck-hijacking racket back in the late 1970s.

A very good friend of mine who is now deceased hijacked trucks his entire career, it was his racket. Spent 12 years at Leavenworth for it. His last heist happened in 2009 and he got busted with a .380 semiautomatic delivering a million dollars of product to an undercover state cop.

NY Mafia is correct regarding gps trackers.

Yes, at one time, that was easy pickings for street guys...and solid money too.
