Oh boy, here we go, talks of maxi-trials and captures of Mafia bosses ending the mob once again. You're never going to defeat the Mafia, get over it. Leave it to a stupid page like Daily Mail to spout such nonsense. yes, lol, the death of Messina denaro and the maxi-trial against the ndrangheta didn't mean the mafia is going to finish, who thinks this doesn't know what he is talking about... Nothing will chance it's too big. Over the last decades, the Italian/Sicilian mafia has constantly exercised power to influence both the economic and political systems.

Vibo, injured police officer: 7 years and three months in prison for the son of boss Mancuso
Luigi Mancuso, 32 years old, from San Gregorio, son of the 'ndrangheta boss Giuseppe Mancuso, alias 'Mbrogghhia, was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison for attempted murder and resisting a public official. The accusation referred to the injuries caused to a policeman on duty at the police squad of the Vibo Valentia police station on the night between 30 September and 1 October. According to the reconstruction of the investigators, the young man, during a normal police check which took place in the city centre, was stopped while he was in a car but instead of providing the documents for recognition and identification, he grabbed arm in arm with the officer, dragging him with the car for a few hundred meters and crushing him against the wall before throwing him to the ground in front of a bar in Piazza San Leoluca.
The Vibo Valentia Prosecutor's Office had charged the young man with the crime of attempted murder, in addition to resisting a public official, since - according to the prosecution's statement - he risked killing the policeman who was injured and transferred in serious condition to the Jazzolino hospital where he was fractures of two vertebrae, head trauma and several bruises were found.

'Ndrangheta: the former mayor of Isola Capo Rizzuto, Gianluca Bruno, on trial for external competition Jan.!9,2024
Gianluca Bruno , the former mayor of Isola Capo Rizzuto , has ended up on trial , involved in the second investigation by the DDA into the alleged interference of the Arena gang of Isola di Capo Rizzuto in the management of the then Sant'Anna Center for asylum seekers . This is what the Catanzaro preliminary hearing judge decided yesterday and, accepting the request of prosecutor Pasquale Mandolfino, the 42-year-old was sent to trial. The trial for him will begin on May 10th in front of the Court of Crotone.
In recent weeks, the 44-year-old Leonardo Sacco, former governor of the Misericordia di Isola, and Carmelo Giordano, the 56-year-old former employee of the Prefecture of Crotone, had already been sent to trial, ending up at the center of the same proceeding in which Bruno is accused. The former mayor must answer for external complicity in a mafia association. For the DDA he would have favored the Arenas by acting as a "link" between the Municipality of Isola and the clan to the point of supporting the interests of the 'ndrina. The investigative activity arose from the Jonny operation which in 2017 revealed the alleged "long arm" of the Arena and the island gangs on the business linked to the reception of refugees.

The Italian mafias conquer Germany: the 'Ndrangheta dominates JAN 29, 2024 There are over a thousand Italian mafiosi active in Germany. This was made known by the German Interior Ministry in response to a question presented by the Green group to the Bundestag. According to data from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), in 2022 “ 1,003 suspected members of Italian organized crime permanently resident ” were identified. Of the total, 519 alleged mafiosi belonged to the 'Ndrangheta, 134 to Cosa Nostra and 118 to the Camorra. Compared to 2021, there was an increase of 87 subjects.
The exponents of Italian organized crime were mostly employed in the catering, food trade and automotive sectors. Among the crimes committed by mafiosi are drug trafficking, money laundering and tax fraud. The illicit proceeds from the criminal activities of these individuals amount to approximately 2.3 million euros, of which 683 thousand have been seized. The German Ministry of the Interior did not provide information on the number of criminal cases against the Mafia underway in Germany or the amount of actual profits of criminal organizations.
Marcel Emmerich, Green MP in the federal parliament, underlined that " the Mafia today weaves its web in Germany as in much of Italy, increasingly managing to build relationships with politics and the economy under the guise of entrepreneurs apparently serious ." However, as highlighted by the ecologists, the Mafia continues to be underestimated in Germany, " the washing machine of Europe's criminals ". According to estimates, over 100 billion euros are laundered in the country every year. For Emmerich, the illicit proceeds of the Italian mafia seized in recent years by the German authorities “ are just the tip of a gigantic iceberg ”.

whatever happened to domenico oppedisano? was he not named as capo crimine or something many years ago? is he still imprisoned? was close to pesce family, arrested 2010,2012 held a high up title. is this similar to being head of the cosa nostra cupola? if so who has succeeded him?
god i sound like that little dink from home alone..."does this have 4 wheel drive, what kind of gas mileage does this get?" The capo crimine is far from a boss of bosses. It's a temporary position decided collegially by the members of the Province. The real powers are Head of Company Master General Accountant Master of the Day The only capo crimine known to date are: Antonio Nirta "The Old Man" (from San Luca , arrested in 1993 and died in 2015 ) Antonio Pelle [13] (from San Luca , arrested in 2009 and died in 2009 ) Domenico Oppedisano (from Rosarno , arrested in 2010 ) According to the repentant Francesco Oliverio, there are 3 crimine in Calabria in addition to that of San Luca from which they were activated : Crime of San Luca or Polsi Crime of Cirò or Crime of Crotone (which also operates in the Cosenza area) Cosenza crime Vibo Valentia Crime (Recently Created) In 'Ndrangheta terminology, the control chamber of Canada and Australia are also defined as Crimine. It is not yet known whether they depend directly on the Crime of Polsi or on the 'ndrine of the Ionian Mandate . The latest discovery is a Crimine in Germany.

'Ndrangheta, assets worth 400 million confiscated from entrepreneur
Assets worth approximately 400 million euros attributable to an entrepreneur operating in the online gaming and betting sector were confiscated by the financiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Reggio Calabria and of the Scico of Rome, with the coordination of the Reggio Calabria DDA, in execution of a provision issued by the Prevention Measures Section of the Court of Reggio Calabria. The capital measure concerns corporate assets, trusts and financial resources in Calabria, Puglia and Abruzzo. The criminal figure of the entrepreneur had emerged in the Galassia operation against the 'Ndrangheta.
The investigation by the Reggio Calabria DDA, directed by Giovanni Bombardieri, aimed at combating the infiltration of the 'Ndrangheta in the online gaming and betting sector, would have made it possible to discover the existence of a sophisticated and highly profitable criminal system, aimed at illicit collection of bets, with a decision-making and operational base in Reggio Calabria and ramifications also in Malta, Romania, Austria and Spain. The companies in question would have acted through a "cascade" earning system, from the master, top of the pyramid and promoter of the organization, to the end user, the final player.
Furthermore, links with the 'ndrangheta would have emerged, to which a part of the proceeds would have been guaranteed in exchange for protection and diffusion of the brand online and in local businesses. The entrepreneur, who was also subjected to special surveillance for the duration of two years and 6 months, with obligation of residence, based on what emerged, would be the real dominus of a company with registered office in Malta, but in fact operating in Italy through a permanent establishment with multiple commercial points, distributed throughout the territory and dedicated to collecting bets on games and betting. The confiscation concerns the entire corporate portfolio of 3 companies operating in the online gaming and betting sector, two trusts rooted in Malta including their respective financial portfolios, as well as banking, financial and insurance relationships and related assets, for a total value estimated at approximately 400 million euros.

The justice collaborator Gaspare Mutolo said that already in the 1980s there was an order to invest capital on German soil because they had been informed that the Berlin Wall would soon fall . Over the years the gangs, strengthened by the substantial underestimation of the German ruling class, have evolved to the point of interfacing, as Lombardo had explained, with " infidel " subjects located in the " main strategic areas: political, institutional, professional, informational, financial, entrepreneurial, healthcare, banking and economic ". All this requires, as the investigations of the anti-mafia district directorate of Reggio Calabria also reveal, a " very sophisticated chain of command" hinged on a "top-down vertical structure" capable of coordinate (as described in the 'Eureka' operation ) various criminal associations. The leadership of the 'Ndrangheta, explained PC Lombardo, therefore does not stop at that structure, but expands to become part of "an expanded criminal system that also includes Cosa Nostra, the Camorra and other criminal structures that operate following methods , and for purposes, typically mafia. Here is the true essence of the strategic direction, which is no longer exclusive to a single criminal component but which exists in relation to all historical mafias". In other words, "the 'Ndrangheta no longer exists as a criminal organization of Calabrian origin, Cosa Nostra no longer exists as a typically Sicilian criminal organization, the Camorra no longer exists as a Campania organization. The mafia-type criminal system, in its top secret components, becomes something different, considerably more dangerous and infiltrated into the legal fabric ."
