Letter of death threats to Gratteri. Judicial police: the author arrested 06 February 2024 The agents of the Flying Squad of Salerno and that of Catanzaro arrested Salvo Mirarchi , investigated for threatening a public official aggravated by the mafia method and already sentenced last September in the context of 'The Keys' trial to eight years in prison. The investigations, specifically, started from a letter received by the Catanzaro prosecutor's office with which an anonymous person had threatened the then public prosecutor Nicola Gratteri and the prosecutor Debora Rizza with death if the current suspect was not freed by the end of 2023. In the letter, the investigators wrote, "serious death threats were made against the two magistrates, also stating that they would be the victim of an attack to be carried out with the use of a bazooka". Furthermore, Mirarchi feared transversal revenge against the current prosecutor of Naples. According to the indictment, in fact, the suspect also threatened "the brother of doctor Gratteri with death" and saying that it was known where he lived" and "also saying that the routes that doctor Gratteri took with the company car in use by him". According to the judicial police, Mirarchi - as reported in a note from the prosecutor Giuseppe Borrelli - could be the author of the letter. It should be remembered that Gratteri has been under guard for more than thirty years and that following other death threats his escort had been further strengthened.

Agreement between the 'ndrangheta and the Camorra for drug trafficking, the Albanian broker who dealt with the two mafias was arrested Kevin Kurti was captured in Durres. He had escaped a raid on January 16th. His central role in the pact between Campania and Calabria for cocaine trafficking
by R.C. February 6, 2024 12.22pm
Three weeks ago he escaped a maxi blitz by the Carabinieri of the Naples investigative unit. This is Kevin Kurti, a 26-year-old arrested in Albania, his country of origin. The man was arrested in Durazzo, in the family home .
The facts for which he is under investigation relate to a raid carried out on January 16 against two criminal groups. The district anti-mafia directorate and the carabinieri carried out dozens of precautionary measures and seized a large quantity of narcotic substances. Furthermore, during the investigations, in November 2022, it was possible to arrest the fugitive Bruno Carbone , collaborator of the drug trafficker Raffaele Imperiale, in Dubai.
Considered a drug trafficking broker and an important Albanian cocaine trafficker , Kurti is considered the pivot around which the agreement revolved between Simone Bartiromo, a leading element of the organization being investigated, and Sebastiano Romeo, a Calabrian cocaine supplier based in Bianco .
After the raid, which the 26-year-old managed to escape, the investigations did not stop and the carabinieri, coordinated by the Naples Anti-Mafia District Directorate, with the collaboration of the Scip (Service for International Police Cooperation) and the Albanian police, tracked down Kurti. When the leatherheads broke into the family home in Durazzo, the man did not resist . The 26-year-old is now confined in an Albanian penitentiary, awaiting extradition.

'Ndrangheta, alleged boss imprisoned in 41 Bis released from prison All ten charges against him were quashed
by Editorial Staff 07 February 2024 5.24pm PRESS The Court of Review of Catanzaro has issued a surprising decision regarding the case of Pasquale Forastefano, the alleged leader involved in the international anti-drug investigation called "Gentlemen 2". All ten charges against him were quashed following the referral by the Supreme Court of Cassation.
Forastefano was among the 25 arrested as part of the "Gentlemen 2" operation, accused of being the main exponent of an international association dedicated to drug and weapons trafficking. However, the Court of Review decided to annul the charges after the Supreme Court accepted the appeal presented by lawyers Pasquale Di Iacovo and Cesare Badolato.
Forastefano's lawyers have raised various criticisms regarding the solidity of the evidence presented by the prosecution, in particular regarding the use of the Sky-Ecc cryptophone. The “inconsistencies of motivation” regarding the defendant's use of the device led to the decision to quash the charges and send the case back for reconsideration.
This is not the first time that Forastefano has found himself involved in a trial of this magnitude. Already in 2022 he had been subjected to the harsh regime of 41-bis as part of the "Kossa" operation. However, this time the verdict was in his favor, and the Review Court ordered his immediate release from Parma prison, where he was detained under the harsh regime of 41 bis.

'Ndrangheta in Cosenza, 41 bis starts for former boss Roberto Porcaro by Arcangelo Badolati
FEBRUARY 10, 2024
The boss Roberto Porcaro, member of the strategic direction of the "confederate" gangs operating in the urban Cosenza area, was assigned to the special detention regime of 41 bis. The measure was notified to him yesterday in the Terni prison where he is being held.
Porcaro, defended by the lawyer Mario Scarpelli of the Bruzio Bar, had staged the beginning of a collaboration with the magistrates of the Catanzaro anti-mafia prosecutor's office last year who, however, did not give him credit . In recent months, in the home of Porcaro's ex-brother-in-law, the police had found a trolley containing 389,000 euros in cash.

Trusted man of the 'Ndrangheta Bellocco gang arrested He would have managed a fugitive boss in Calabria, stopped by the CC REGGIO CALABRIA , 12 February 2024, 1.53pm
ANSA editorial team
Aman considered to be a person of absolute trust among the leaders of the Bellocco di Rosarno 'Ndrangheta gang was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Reggio Calabria.
This is Pietro Di Giacco, 42 years old, from San Ferdinando, accused of mafia association.
At the request of the head of the Reggio DDA Giovanni Bombardieri, the investigating judge issued a precautionary custody order in prison against Di Giacco. The investigation, which began in December 2019, originates from an investigative activity on the operational dynamics of the Bellocco gang and the involvement of some suspects in the management of the fugitive behavior of the boss Domenico Bellocco, aged 48. One of these suspects is Di Giacco against whom, according to the prosecutors, there are serious indications also in relation to the gang's illicit affairs. The investigations revealed that Di Giacco would have ensured a protection and communication network between the top management and would have taken an active part in the implementation of the criminal program of the clan. In essence, the 42-year-old would have been the boss's voice in the area while the latter was at large. Di Giacco would have been available both to approach the victims of extortion and to act as a person to turn to to present requests for protection or to pay the extortion "owed" to the gang. As proof of the role he played, the man, according to the prosecution, remembered having provided assistance to the Bellocco fugitives on more than one occasion and for many years without making mistakes that could have led investigators to their capture. Hence the suspect's desire, which emerged from the Carabinieri's investigations, to monopolize the management of Domenico Bellocco's fugitive status, preventing others from doing so in his place, deeming them unreliable. Di Giacco's name had also appeared in old DDA investigations. The black Fiat Panda was registered to him and had been noticed by the police on 1 September 2009 near the Polsi sanctuary where, as emerged in the maxi-operation "Crimine", there would have been a meeting of the 'ndrangheta with the crime boss Domenico Oppedisano and with the bosses of the whole Province.

Gratteri: «This is how the 'Ndrangheta tried to kill my children» Fake road accidents and hitmen disguised as policemen, the prosecutor tells Peter Gomez the details of the failed attacks on his family members
Editorial board -February 13, 2024 9.39pm
«The 'Ndrangheta organized a fake road accident to kill my son» . Thus Nicola Gratteri , guest of Peter Gomez's La Confessione which, starting this evening, arrives on Raitre at 11pm. Various attempted attacks, not only against him as a magistrate, but also aimed at the people closest to him: his wife, before she became one, someone shot at the door of the house with a message: "you are marrying a dead man" ; to both of his sons.
In 2016, when the eldest was studying in Messina, two fake policemen entered the building where he lived . He saw the balaclavas and managed to lock himself inside the house and raise the alarm. «Has anyone in the family ever told her: “Dad, is it worth it? ”», Gomez asked.
«I had these problems when I was growing up. – replied the chief prosecutor of Naples -. They had also organized a fake road accident for their other young son – he continued – They had decided from the Reggio Calabria prison to have him hit with an SUV while he was on his motorbike" . Luckily all attempts were unsuccessful: «On both occasions we found out beforehand so nothing happened, but both my children were put under guard and this creates tension in a family», concluded Gratteri.

I came across this article dated December 10,2023 which I think wasn't posted. It makes mention of the existence and operation of many gangs of Calabrian origin (Commisso, Aquino-Coluccio, Mazzaferro, Piromalli),in the New York area. https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...-cosi-la-ndrangheta-si-muove-a-new-york/Low profile and relations with Cosa Nostra: this is how the 'Ndrangheta moves in New York I believe there is at least one boss with the high rank of Santista or Vangelo in the NYC area. I wouldn't be suprised there are several locali or even a Crimine like in Canada,Australia and Germany.
