always been fascinated by heists. I think its one element of crime that often doesn't get talked alot about on forums like these, mainly because heists are not really a proper avenue for Criminal organizations today. but talking mainly about individuals, who are some of the best bank robbers/heist men in history.

To late for Joey to answer but Amil was a well trained Marine sniper.
Most thought that Amil was directed to wack Joey by Lenny Strollo but Amil did it on his own in his failed hopes that Lenny would have him made.
That fact is also well known by the "I" but they figured that with Joey out of the way that it would be easy to convict Lenny for the hit.Strollo implicated Altshuler, his friend of more than twenty years, in the murder of rival gangster Ernie Biondillo Jr. and attempted murder of Mahoning County Prosecutor-Elect Paul Gains. Strollo also fingered Riddle and Turnage, black street thugs. In turn Lenny "The Rat" was allowed to live the good life in Canfield, Ohio and keep his millions :-(

Was Amil Italian? did he have any ties to any mafia family?

Not that I know of. I assume he was Italian if he desired to be a "Made Man".

On June 28 2022, a display case of the TEFAF art fair was robbed in Maastricht, the Netherlands.. Investigators are becoming increasingly convinced that the legendary Pink Panther gang from the Balkans was behind the robbery.

No arrests yet lol, despite more than 80 officers from 23 countries have taken part in the 4th INTERPOL operational working group meeting on the Pink Panthers in 2023.
