Pro-Palestinian protests disrupt colleges across the US

In Holland's universities the activists also 'demonstrate', but not at this scale. Looks very similar to Vietnam demonstrations.

Biden in Yom Hashoah speech: ‘People already forgetting’ Oct. 7, ‘I have not’
US president gives most forceful condemnation of anti-Israel campus protests yet, slamming ‘ferocious scourge’ of antisemitism and denial of Hamas atrocities motivating activists

Those activists are brainwashed by social media and hamas propaganda no idea of the history of Israel and Jewish people.
Pure antisemitism

Biden's a weak idiot, all talk and no action. And you're right H, the kids are brainwashed and just "want to be part of something." There was a clip I saw online recently where a young kid was interviewing kids at Columbia and he asked a girl why she and her roommate were there protesting and she turns to her roommate and asks, "what are we protesting?" They literally have no idea. Or knowing the backstory to the phrase from the river to the sea. It's scary because this is the future of this country and they're all idiots!

I applaud Biden for standing with Israel and for remembering Oct. 7. It's not easy to remember at his age, but he may not be as senile as his opponents would have you believe. I liked his Howard Stern interview

Campus protests in Europe: Police break up another pro-Palestinian camp at Amsterdam university. Campus protests by pro-Palestinian activists have spread across Europe as some call for a break in academic ties with Israel over the war in Gaza.
UvA campus protest: Barricades broken down, demonstrators are driven from the site with batons
Consultations between the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and demonstrators have yielded no results, the university said in a statement. Barricades are now being dismantled and demonstrators are being driven from the site with batons.

Seems that many activists have ties to Samidoun, the banned group in Germany that cheered the October 7 massacre and rape. Dangerous group active throughout the world.

So do I.

I'll bet that many Board members are too young to remember the Munich Olympics or the raid on Entebbe. Look them up along with these dates: 732 AD, 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973.

As far as protests go, they don't compare with those of the 1960s and early 70s. You can look up the Democratic National Convention in Chicago 1968, the Chicago 7. the Weather Underground (and its Prairie Fire manifesto), the Sybionese Liberation Army, University of Wisconsin bombing, the Cornell and Harvard University takeovers (the list goes on). So, we can be thankful for the little things.

It's funny that the people who talk about brainwashing never think that they are the ones who are being brainwashed. Which bubble are you in? Whether you lean right and exclusively consume right-wing media or veer left, chances are, you've been influenced more than you realize. It's easy to latch onto soundbites without questioning their validity, whether it's one small snippet or an entire narrative. The most important thing you can do for yourself is to embrace humility and openness in self-reflection over external validation

Unfortunately I agree with you. I've seen that clip online. Liberals are truly killing this country from the inside out.

We hear more about the radical left, but there are elements on the far right who want to execute drug dealers and exterminate entire races. It's honestly hard to say which spectrum of extremism is worse, but the good news is that most people are not extremists. I see a lot of people hovering around the center. They are not Jesus freaks and they don't want open borders

The EBU is currently holding a crisis meeting after the disqualification of Joost Klein, Swedish Broadcasting SVT reports in their live blog.

"According to the broadcaster, the disqualification has provoked strong reactions from the Dutch delegation. The EBU is currently in a crisis meeting," the broadcaster writes.

Netherlands: Coalition parties introduce stricter migration and integration measures
Flag of Netherlands
After months of negotiation, 4 political parties in the Netherlands have reached a coalition agreement. They presented 10 key points which include strict asylum reforms and integration requirements, and instigated a temporary 'Asylum Crisis Law' allowing for far-reaching actions on migration.

The key points from the coalition agreement are as follows:

The indefinite asylum permit will be abolished, and requirements for the temporary residence permit will be tightened.
Asylum seekers whose claims have been rejected are to be deported as often as possible, including through forced measures.
Those with refugee status will no longer receive priority in allocation of social rental housing.
Automatic family reunification will no longer be possible.
The 'asylum seeker dispersal law' will be repealed. The law aimed to distribute asylum seekers and refugees more evenly across the country, preventing certain municipalities or regions from disproportionately accommodating asylum seekers.
Additional obligations on integration include:

extension of the standard naturalisation period to 10 years, regardless of the type of residence permit;
foreigners seeking Dutch nationality must, if possible, renounce their original nationality;
the language requirement for naturalisation is raised to level B1;
'integration' includes knowledge about the Holocaust and its victims.

I know no politics, but it's a criminal case like many others.

First criminal case against Trump nears end, jury deliberating about hush money

The first criminal case against former President Trump is nearing its conclusion in New York. The closing arguments have been delivered, now it is up to the jury to decide whether or not Trump is guilty of paying hush money to ex-porn actress Stormy Daniels and then fraudulently writing that amount into the accounts.

Today, the twelve-member jury will first receive instructions from the judge, after which they will withdraw to reach a unanimous verdict. It is unclear how long this will last. That could be a few hours, but also days.

This case is one of four ongoing criminal cases against Trump.
