Going to be doing some posts of images I've been sent or found over the years on some of the lesser-known guys who have passed away. I do have other photos I am not going to post myself bc these guys are still alive, though anyone can PM me and I'll share them.

Good photos, thank you for sharing.

Tony Soprano easily could have been based on John Matassa in regards to looks.

ChiTown what is the story behind Matassa Sr and Sinatra? He was a senior cop and a mafioso?
That is strange Sicilian Cosa Nostra rules forbides members with ties to law enforcement.

@Chitown...the Matassa Sr pic is priceless, thanks a lot and pls keep them coming.

@H, yes he was a a cop, Mafioso, and also one of Giancana's bodyguards. The Outfit was never completely traditional, especially during the Giancana era.

Johnny Matassa Sr. was Sinatra's Bodyguard when he came into Chicago. My view is that Frank hated Johnny bc he was essentially Giacancana's hall monitor - Sinatra couldn't move in Chicago without Giancana (through Matassa) telling him he could - Matassa would also force Sinatra to go around to all the private homes of the top guys for private performances. Sinatra was like a whore and Matassa was the pimp working for Giancana.

I really think Giancana was one of these guys who would fuck with Sinatra and treat him like dog shit just to do it and show his power over a hollywood golden boy - he was that type of guy.

Matassa just looks like a guy that would be extremely scary if he was to get upset with anyone. Someone you definitely would want on your side but also someone you never ever would fuck with.

Any photos out there of Bobby Panozzo, Paul Koroluk, Vito Salamone or Gary Gagliano.

You probably know that the Nevada Gaming Board forced Sinatra to give up his ownership interest in the Cal-Nevada Lodge because he let Momo stay overnight.

Panozzo and Koruluk photos are easy to find with a Google search. Vito Salamone is on Facebook. Gags is a tough one - I do have a photo but I am not certain its him - I know he's a big guy but I have never seen him and really have no clue. Gary's wife is on all of the Luke's hot dog PR stuff however (she's next to Lightfoot here).

I have a rare photo of Vic Tartan in what looks like a wire room and an old photo of Guy and Marco D'Amico. I will also share the Vic Plescia prison photo once I figure out where it is.

Thanks, Sinatra's political life is a bit underexposed.

From the late 1960s onward, Sinatra was outspoken about various conflicts in the Middle East. On the eve of the Six-Day War in 1967 he reportedly sent a wire to President Lyndon Johnson "urging him to condemn the 'outrageous' actions of Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser". He gave a concert at the Great Pyramids in 1979 to raise money to support the campaign of President Anwar Sadat, whom he considered a "great man who's laying the cornerstone of peace for all the Arab nations". In 1982, during the Israeli–Lebanon conflict, Sinatra expressed hope that Yasser Arafat would be caught and executed.

Sinatra helped establish two intercultural centers in Israel, the Frank Sinatra Brotherhood and Friendship Center for Arab and Israeli Children in Nazareth, and the Frank Sinatra International Student Center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Mount Scopus campus.[21][22] The latter center was bombed on July 31, 2002, by Hamas,[23] killing 9 and injuring nearly 100.[24]
