Police said that Mrs. Cucchiara was found on a bed in a second floor bedroom of the townhouse apartment at 32 Pond st. She had been shot in the head at close range.

Cucchiara was found on the floor nearby in his pajamas. He died of a gunshot that entered his mouth and lodged in his brain, police said. The Cucchiaras were found at 11 a.m. by Silvio DeGivanni, manager of the Hill Estates complex. Dr.

In the late '50s Federal agents named Cucchiara as one of Luciano's pipelines through which the exiled underworld king relayed orders to American organized crime. Detectives said they found a revolver close to Cucchiara's body. It had been fired at least twice. They said the death looked like a suicide, as if Cucchiara had placed the revolver close to his mouth and pulled the trigger.

Police said there was no sign of forced entry. All the doors were securely locked. An official ruling on the cause of death will tie made today after the autopsy. Police said there were no signs of a struggle and that Mrs. Cucchiara could have been asleep when she was shot.

In 1996, The Paul DeCologero renegade faction of the Boston Mob killed 19 years old Aislin Silva.
