One-third less prison sentence demanded in trial settlements with 'the Bosnian' (UPDATE)
An eight-year prison sentence and a fine of 200,000 euros were demanded against 47-year-old Dutchman Boris P. on Thursday. The man was arrested in Serbia in May 2022 and extradited to the Netherlands a year later. The Public Prosecution Service reported this on Thursday afternoon. Far-reaching procedural agreements have been made with the man – who is nicknamed 'the Bosnian' – by the justice department.

Today Boris P. was in court in Rotterdam, where it became known that the Public Prosecution Service (OM) made trial agreements with the suspect's lawyer. According to the justice department, he was the right-hand man and financial man of Ridouan Taghi. The OM previously described him as the 'CEO of the divisions violence and finance' of Taghi's organization.

P., born in Utrecht, emigrated to Montenegro in 2021. When he made a trip to neighboring country Serbia, he was arrested at the request of the Netherlands . The police tracked him down through encrypted chats in the Sky-ECC messaging service. He communicated in a chat group, in which “Bolle Jos” Leijdekkers, who was sentenced to 24 years in prison this week, also posted messages.
