As a kid, living in Downtown New York, I used to walk past their clubhouse off 1st Avenue, nearly every week. It was just a few blocks off Houston Street, and a flew blocks north of Little Italy. Their clubhouse was located in what is considered to be the East Village. Not the traditional "Greenwich Village' on the west side that most everybody in the world knows about, and talks about. But it "was" still The Village. The Village's more "gritty"side, if you will. lol.
