During the 1910's, Ricca's father Antonio DeLucia was allegedly one of the main importers for Neapolitan cammoristi in the US, who in turn were mostly former prisoners or criminals on the run from Italian law enforcement. His son Ricca arrived sometime during the early 20s since previously committed a murder back home and served some time in prison and after getting out, he killed the witness who testified against him and fled the country. Ricca was allegedly protecting his sister's honor, who in turn later she was also being suspect in a murder case.
Colosimos wife Victoria Moresco and her two brothers were deeply involved in Colosimo's prostitution racket and in fact, Victoria was one of Chicago's prime "madams" at the time. Torrio's wife was also involved in her husband's rackets to an extent, by being the owner of Torrios most notorious establishments and Im not sure, but I think that she was also arrested once or a couple of times. Nitto's wife was also somehow of a shady individual, same as McGurn's girlfriend. So yeah, they had women involved in the organization, same as today.
I also agree about the horizontal structure, but with 3 or 4 layers, meaning top admin, board of directors, rest of capos, soldiers and associates. A soldier in the US Camorra is different then the one in Cosa Nostra, in terms of power and the large areas which they controlled. Same goes for Chicagos non-made guys who in turn controlled their own districts.
Mongol General: Conan, what is best in life?
Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

So from what i said about all the Clans or Families in Italy does that Sound Accurate for Each group about their Personality and Traits ? Sounds about like what your hear about personality wise, whether its true or not. But everybody is an individual. You hear that some don't trust Sicilians, others think Neapolitans are thieves that can steal the soles off your shoes while you sleep, some farther North can't stand Calabrians who are often called hard heads. Probably starting geographically at the North, each group blames Italy's prob;lems on the place right below them.
