'Bolle Jos' co-suspects released in Turkey'
July 10, 2024

In Turkey, a number of suspects that the justice system considers to be part of the criminal organization of the fugitive Dutchman "Bolle" Jos Leijdekkers have been released, according to the Algemeen Dagblad . The group had been arrested as suspects in a major Turkish criminal case concerning cocaine trafficking.

51 people
Last weekend, according to the AD, Leijdekkers' Rotterdam-Turkish brother-in-law Abdullah Alp Ü. was unexpectedly released. He was arrested with 23 others on June 13, 2023. In total, the Turkish authorities arrested 51 people in two days of action.

Leijdekkers' former right-hand man, Isaac "Bom" B. was also in custody. The intention was that the Turkish justice system would extradite B. to the Netherlands.

Leijdekkers and B. are now at war with each other.

Leader
The release is the result of a decision by the Istanbul Court of Appeal. The suspects are free on conditions and are not allowed to leave the country.

Abdullah Alp Ü. sees the police as the leader of the organization in Turkey.

Harry Leijdekkers, an older brother of Jos, is also free. He still has to serve 117 days in prison in the Netherlands because of a conviction in the Netherlands.

Unclear
Two weeks ago, Leijdekkers was sentenced in Amsterdam to 24 years in prison for large-scale drug trafficking and inciting a (never carried out) assassination of a rival.

Leijdekkers has been staying in Turkey, according to the police. His current whereabouts are unclear.
