'Demands in Spain: 18 years against “Shrek”, 37 years against Hans V.' (VIDEO)

A Spanish court has demanded 37 and 18 years in prison for Hans V. (44) from Waalwijk and Marco “Shrek” H. (48) from Reusel from Brabant for participating in a criminal organization and large-scale import of cocaine into Spain, according to the Algemeen Dagblad . Another suspect has even been sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Thirteen Dutchmen
The mega-case dates back to 2018, when in October more than 6 tons of cocaine were seized in a warehouse on an industrial estate in Malaga. Another 1.4 tons were intercepted by Spanish authorities on the high seas near the Canary Islands.

A total of eighteen men are on trial, including thirteen Dutch nationals and one man from Estonia.
The case also received a lot of publicity in Spain because the group had contacts with the notorious Spanish drug smuggler Sito Miñanco, about whom the Netflix series Fariña (Brazilian cassava flour) was made.

Detectives on the Costa del Sol initially also linked the investigation to the unsolved liquidation of Utrecht explosives specialist Hamza Ziani in Torremolinos in 2018.
