Ton of cocaine among bananas in Vlissingen
July 30, 2024

Customs found more than a ton of cocaine during a regular check in the port of Vlissingen. The Public Prosecution Service Zeeland/West-Brabant does not report when this happened.

Ecuador
The drugs were packed in a shipment of bananas that had been transported from Ecuador. The final destination was a company in Germany.

After weighing it turned out to be 1065 kilos of cocaine.

Street value
The Public Prosecution Service estimates the street value at almost 80 million euros. That amounts to a kilo price of 75,000 euros.

Street value is the total value the cocaine would have fetched if it had been cut and sold on the street.

The wholesale price is less than a third of 75,000 euros per kilo.
