Frank Sinatra died on May 14, 1998, he performed five times in Holland.
Between the concerts in 1975 and 1991, Frank Sinatra performed three more times in the Netherlands . In 1977 he returned to the Concertgebouw, again Lou van Rees was the organizer, again there was a loss. Precise figures are not known.

The best records are not always the official ones. Like this interlude from 1946. Sinatra was already on his own two feet at that time; he was accompanied by Coleman Hawkins, Johnny Hodges, Buddy Rich and Nat King Cole (on piano!).

A song from FS's magnum opus, also called the 'suicide album' (1958). Angel Eyes is one of the top five 'saloon songs' - songs about men hanging out in bars to drown their sorrows. This song was also perfect for a singer who could act.

Own label: Reprise, 'to play and play again'. It is 1960 and FS also sang songs for some Capitol records. The arranger was the young Johnny Mandel and the band was full of jazz musicians.

FS only made one record with Duke Ellington, and that was unfortunately not an unqualified success. Still, there were some gems on this album from 1967, such as Indian Summer, which Sinatra had also sung with Tommy Dorsey ('my eyeballs almost jumped out'). With a beautiful solo by alto player Johnny Hodges!

He co-wrote it himself. The song (recorded in 1951) became a standard that was sung by everyone - most recently by Bob Dylan. A very emotional rendition, from the time when Sinatra was out of favor and had incessant problems with partner Ava Gardner.
