In 1973/74, Alex pressured Aiuppa and Accardo to give him a break, mainly because Cerone was getting out of prison at the time and so, accrding to Alex, he was able to take Alex's position at least for some time. The problem was that Aiuppa didnt trust Cerone very much, but in the end they agreed and gave the "ok" for Alex to take a break and to take care of his sick wife for a limited time period. By 1976/77 Aiuppa brought back Alex as one of the members of the leading admimistration.
