Biden administration’s material support for IDF continuing despite some calls to end military aid Why publicize such a controversial, contentious and divisive issue? - Arab–Israeli six day war 05-10 June 1967 [Third]
According to George Lenczowski [1915-2000] a lawyer, diplomat, scholar and Emeritus Professor of Political Science, at the University of California, Berkeley as early as May 23, 1967 US President Lyndon B. Johnson secretly authorized supplying Israel by air with a variety of arms systems, even when an embargo on weapons shipments was placed on the Middle East Between June 5 and June 10, 1967 Israel defeated a coalition of Arab states, primarily Egypt, Jordan and Syria At the time of the cessation of hostilities, Israel had captured, 1. the Golan Heights from Syria 2. the West Bank including East Jerusalem from Jordan 3. and the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip from Egypt now! that was mighty impressive

Real worry -- Israel is defending not winning and Time is running out. I doubt, Israel can keep up this defending, much longer -- needs to win but cannot do it on its own.
also needs boots on the ground [even if unofficial] fighting alongside IDF among all the deaths, wounded, kill or be killed.... another factor comes into play -- Fatigue - How long can IDF keep this up? Does IDF even have the manpower
granted IDF had fought longer wars but perhaps not such multi-pronged, collective terrorism, combined altogether -- among others, 1. Hit and Run brutal terror from ALL sides of Israel, this tiny nation 2. in Gaza with Hamas 3. in the north with Hezbollah in Lebanon 4. in the Gulf with the Houthis in Yemen 5. and with Israel’s nemesis Iran “a full-fledged Iranian Axis of Resistance” 6. and now Fatah in West Bank 7. network of non-state actors throughout the Middle East with a collective arsenal of rockets trained on Israel 8. suicide bombings and it will soon be ONE year since this bloodied, brutal, monstrous, violent, multi-pronged Guerilla warfare terror been going on I also doubt the count of the dead and wounded, reported in Israeli news -- paints the true, grim picture....

Inside Iran as it stands on the brink of war Very good article - Iranian money funding terrorists
Another man said: “Iran seeks to dominate the entire Middle East, even other countries.
Now they’re spending the country’s wealth on Hamas, the Houthis in Yemen and Palestine, while many Iranians are struggling with hunger and misery” A young woman said her generation had been “utterly devastated” “Our youth has been stolen by the revolution” she said I reckon, priorities messed up all over the world except perhaps Switzerland, Singapore

- Hamas official Khaled Meshaal
Mossad attempted an assassination of senior Hamas official Khaled Meshaal in Jordan, by spraying him with poison, in 1997 but was forced by Jordan's outraged King Hussein to provide the antidote Meshaal is now considered among the contenders to become the new leader of Hamas -- providing the antidote was not a smart move.... Top Hamas official Meshaal urges resumption of suicide bombings against IsraelThe Times of Israel by ToI Staff 29 August 2024 Emanuel Fabian contributed to this report [ another! dime a dozen] Top Hamas official Khaled Meshaal called on Wednesday for a resumption of suicide bombings in the West Bank, Arabic media reported and encouraged Palestinians and supporters of the Palestinian cause to engage in “actual resistance against the Zionist entity” According to Sky News Arabia, during an address at a conference in Istanbul, Turkey, Meshaal said that the Hamas terror group wanted to “return to [suicide] operations” The war with Israel in Gaza as well as the frequent IDF raids against Palestinian terror entities in the West Bank, could “only be addressed by open conflict” Meshaal was quoted as having said “They are fighting us with open conflict and we are confronting them with open conflict” “The enemy has opened the conflict on all fronts, seeking us all, whether we fight or not” Meshaal said, appearing to refer to the assassination of former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on 31 July 2024 Israel has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in the killing of Haniyeh, who was based in Qatar and had been the head of the terror group’s politburo wing “I repeat my call to everyone to participate on multiple fronts in the actual resistance against the Zionist entity” added Meshaal Meshaal had briefly been seen as a frontrunner to replace Haniyeh before the reins were handed over to Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar Earlier in August, Hamas claimed responsibility for an explosion in Tel Aviv which it said was a suicide bombing conducted as a joint operation with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and vowed that further, similar attacks would follow One person was moderately injured in the August 18, 2024 attack, when the bomb detonated inside the backpack of the man carrying it, killing him instantly Suicide bombings in Israel have been rare since the Second Intifada in the early 2000s when hundreds of Israelis were killed in a series of deadly bombings In the wake of the intifada, Israel constructed the West Bank security barrier that has been credited with helping thwart further bombing attempts Recently, amid the war in Gaza, Israeli security authorities have identified attempts by Hamas and other terror groups in the West Bank to return to carry out such attacks In March of this year 2024 a would-be suicide bomber was killed while trying to infiltrate into Israel from the West Bank Other attempted attacks have been foiled in recent months at earlier stages

U.S. Postured to Defend Israel if Needed, Protect U.S. Forces, AssetsU.S. Department of Defense By Jim Garamone, DOD News 27 August 2024 Extracts: U.S. forces continue to stand ready in the Middle East, should Iran or its proxies attempt to attack Israel, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Major General Pat Ryder said today U.S. Central Command continues to monitor the situation in the Middle East and U.S. naval and air forces are "postured to support the defense of Israel and protect U.S. troops and assets in the region" Ryder said Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III has made two calls this week to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to reiterate America's "ironclad" resolve to defend the country, the general said There are now two U.S. carrier strike groups in the region centered around the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Abraham Lincoln There is also a squadron of F-22 Raptors deployed and the missile submarine USS Georgia is also sailing to the region These forces will remain in the region as long as they are needed "We remain intently focused on de-escalating tensions in the Middle East, while also remaining focused on securing a cease-fire as part of a hostage deal to bring all of the hostages home and to end the war in Gaza" Ryder said Ryder said the deployment of U.S. military capabilities to the region has sent a clear message of deterrence with the idea of preventing a wider regional conflict "Right now, we still assess that the conflict between Israel and Hamas is contained to Gaza" he said "You have seen the cross-border strikes between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah since October 8, 2023 What you saw over the weekend, of course, was [on] a much larger scale than what we've seen previously but it is, in our view, not a wider regional conflict at this stage and so we're going to continue to stay very focused on de-escalation of tensions in the region"

Extracts: - What terrorists Hamas is doing to Israel “brutal, monstrous, violent Guerilla warfare” is worse than what Russia is doing to Ukraine
- terrorists Hamas invaded Israel same as Russia invaded Ukraine
double standards and hypocrisy - Russia keeps attacking Ukraine yet tables ceasefire motions for Israel-Hamas war at the United Nations
- No one tables ceasefire motions for Russia-Ukraine war but votes for Israel-Hamas ceasefire
- South Africa takes Israel to the International Court of Justice [ICJ] but not Russia
Russia bitten off more than they can chew! Former senior Israeli military official Amos Gilad: “Iran as a member of the United Nations keeps preaching to destroy Israel, to exterminate Israel” Iran and Russia being a part of the UN shows what a joke it is A very expensive joke -- Money and otherwise Yet ?United ? Nations

UNRWA USA chief Kronenfeld denounces Israel's anti-UNRWA ad campaign The Jerusalem Post by Staff September 1, 2024 UNRWA has called Israel’s strategy of promoting alleged misinformation “destructive” despite the fact that several employees have been fired due to ties to terrorism - Israeli ad: UNRWA educating terrorists since 1949
Israeli ad: UNRWA educating terrorists since 1949 Israel has been running a months-long anti-UNRWA ad campaign to defund the organization, Wired reported Monday, citing testimony from UNRWA USA chief Mara Kronenfeld Upon finding the ads, Kronenfeld and her seven-person staff appealed to Google for help fighting what they believed to be a misinformation campaign Despite claims that the ads spread misinformation since the beginning of the Israeli government's anti-UNRWA ad campaign, the United Nations has confirmed that several of the employees cited in the ads have been terminated due to their ties to Hamas and involvement in the October 7, 2023 attack Kronenfeld told Wired that since the Israel-Hamas war began in October 2023 donations for their organization have skyrocketed, reaching a record-breaking 30 million dollars in 2023 According to Kronenfeld, the Israeli campaign was an attempt to tarnish the name of and cut off donations to UNRWA USA Earlier in 2024 the state of Israel had accused 12 UNWRA staffers of participating in the October 7 attack, directly tying the group to Hamas terrorists Around the same time, the Israeli Government Advertising Agency launched an ad campaign, buying searches for “UNRWA” and “UNRWA USA” to divert those who searched the terms to a web page full of allegations showing that the organization shouldn't be trusted According to analytics provided to Wired by UNRWA USA’s Google Ads account, when users queried over 300 terms related to UNRWA between May and July, the Israeli ads came up 44 percent of the time that both they and UNRWA USA ads were eligible to appear. Meanwhile, UNRWA USA ads appeared in just 34 percent of eligible circumstances “There is an incredibly powerful campaign to dismantle UNRWA” Kronenfeld said “I want the public to know what’s happening and the insidious nature of it, especially at a time when civilian lives are under attack in Gaza” Google spokesperson Jacel Booth told Wired that governments can run ads that adhere to the company’s policies and that users and employees are welcome to report alleged violations The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New York acknowledged but did not respond to Wired's multiple requests for comment on this story over the past four months For decades, Israel has maintained that UNRWA is standing in the way of lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians by protecting Hamas and enabling the consistent indoctrination of younger generations into the terrorist movement In response to Israel’s accusations UNRWA has fired 13 employees in the past year, with nine of them having been determined to be involved in the Hamas attacks based on evidence provided by Israel Furthermore, major donors such as the US, Germany and Switzerland paused funding to UNRWA The US announced that the ban on UNRWA financing would continue until 2025 despite other countries resuming funding already UNRWA’s Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, has maintained that his organization plays a neutral and vital role in the region and engages in screening and training to keep Hamas sympathizers out of its ranks USA chief Mara Kornenfeld told Wired that UNRWA's good faith efforts have allowed her as a Jewish woman, to feel comfortable about her role within the organization By May, per screenshots acquired by Wired, Israel was promoting the same content but with slightly altered wording — that more clearly previewed what users would get if they clicked, 1. “UNRWA Neutrality Compromised” 2. “Israel Unveils UNRWA Issues” 3. and “Israel Advocates for Safer, Transparent Humanitarian Practices”

As of August 28, 2024, 117 hostages had been returned alive to Israel, with 105 being released in a prisoner exchange deal, 4 released by Hamas unilaterally and 8 rescued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
It was believed that 97 of the 251 hostages abducted by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza, including the bodies of at least 33 confirmed dead by the IDF. So 64 were still alive but now with 6 more dead -- total dead 77 and 57 alive
From: Al Jazeera September 3, 2024 “I will not give in to pressure,” says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as tens of thousands demonstrate in Israel on Monday for a second consecutive day of mass protests criticising the Israeli government for not securing a ceasefire deal and the release of captives held in Gaza.
There has been reluctance over the course of Israel’s war on Gaza by the US president to criticise Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his handling of the conflict.
But that all changed on Monday when asked by reporters on the south lawn of the White House whether the Israeli prime minister was doing enough to try and close the deal with Hamas to reach a ceasefire agreement.
The US president said, simply, no.
Hamas’s armed wing says Netanyahu’s reliance on Israeli military raids in Gaza – instead of a truce deal – means more captives will “be returned to their families in coffins”.
1. It is the terrorists Hamas who murdered the hostages, in cold blood while in negotiations, for a Ceasefire and Hostage Release Deal. 2. It is the terrorists that appears to be having a decisive say. Hamas says, No deal means captives in ‘coffins’
From: The White House Readout September 2, 2024 President Biden expressed his devastation and outrage at the murder, and reaffirmed the importance of holding Hamas’s leaders accountable.

Just give into murderous and "reckless acts of terrorism" 1. Hit and Run brutal terror from ALL sides of Israel, this tiny nation 2. murder hostages - want their deal," or captives in ‘coffins’ 3. Hamas terror group wanted to “return to [suicide] operations” How they been holding Hamas’s and other terrorist leaders accountable for 11 months How many are still alive -- sadly only retrieving bodies How IDF know 33 confirmed dead

Just give into murderous and "reckless acts of terrorism" See! They do read J Geoff's forum! From PBS News September 2, 2024 Amid massive protests across Israel, Netanyahu rejects calls to reach cease-fire deal Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said he would not join cease-fire talks over his demand that Israel remain in control of Gaza's border with Egypt. He spoke after thousands of workers walked off their jobs following a night of protests over his failure to reach a deal for the release of hostages.

How they been holding Hamas’s and other terrorist leaders accountable for 11 months See! They do read J Geoff's forum! From: Reuters September 4, 2024 US charges Hamas leaders over Oct. 7 attack on Israel The United States announced criminal charges on Tuesday against Hamas' top leaders over their roles in planning, supporting and perpetrating the deadly Oct. 7 attack in southern Israel. The charges against Yahya Sinwar, the militant group's chief, and at least five others accuse them of orchestrating the Oct. 7 attack, which killed 1,200 people, including more than 40 Americans. That attack triggered an Israeli assault on Gaza that has killed more than 40,800 Palestinians and laid waste to much of the territory. "As outlined in our complaint, those defendants -- armed with weapons, political support, and funding from the Government of Iran, and support from (Hezbollah) - have led Hamas’s efforts to destroy the State of Israel and murder civilians in support of that aim," Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement. The complaint names six defendants, three of whom are deceased. The living defendants are, 1. Sinwar, who is believed to be in hiding in Gaza; -- apparently he gets around under a burqa 2. Khaled Meshaal, who is based in Doha and heads the group's diaspora office; 3. and Ali Baraka, a senior Hamas official based in Lebanon. The deceased defendants are, 1. former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who the group says was assassinated in July in Tehran; 2. military wing chief Mohammed Deif, who Israel says it killed in a July airstrike; 3. and Marwan Issa, a deputy military commander who Israel said it killed in a March strike. Iran has blamed Israel for Haniyeh's death. Israeli officials have not claimed responsibility. U.S. prosecutors brought charges against the six men in February, but kept the complaint under seal in hopes of capturing Haniyeh, according to a Justice Department official. The Justice Department decided to go public with the charges after Haniyeh's death. I reckon, of course Nothing will come out it.... but still something -- Russian President Putin just visited ICC member Mongolia without getting arrested

Hamas leaders charged by US over deadly 7 October attacks on IsraelThe Guardian By Guardian staff and agencies Reuters and the Associated Press contributed to this report 04 September 2024 Extracts: The US criminal complaint describes the 7 October as the “most violent, large-scale terrorist attack” in Hamas’ history It details how Hamas operatives who arrived in southern Israel with “trucks, motorcycles, bulldozers, speedboats and paragliders” engaged in a brutal campaign of violence that included rape, genital mutilation and machine-gun shootings at close range Attorney General Merrick Garland said US authorities were also investigating the killing of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23 year old Israeli-American taken hostage by Hamas on 7 October His death was announced over the weekend along with five other hostages “We are investigating Hersh’s murder and each and every one of Hamas’s brutal murders of Americans as an act of terrorism” Garland said - new ceasefire and hostage deal proposal
The charges come as the White House says it is developing a new ceasefire and hostage deal proposal with its Egyptian and Qatari counterparts to try to end the nearly 11 month war in Gaza National security spokesperson John Kirby said the recent “executions” of the 6 hostages underscored “the sense of urgency” in the talks In July, Hamas and Israel agreed in principle to implement a three-phase plan publicly proposed by Joe Biden in May Hamas has since said the latest version of the proposal on the table diverges significantly from the initial plan because new Israeli demands have been added, including the lasting Israeli control over the Philadelphi corridor along the border of Egypt and a second corridor running across Gaza Benjamin Netanyahu dismisses Israel-Hamas war cease-fire demands On Monday, Benjamin Netanyahu ruled out making any “concessions” in the stalled talks or “giving in to pressure” to end the war The ignominy of having to negotiate with terrorists.... let alone -- - It is the terrorists Hamas who murdered the hostages, in cold blood while in negotiations, for a Ceasefire and Hostage Release Deal.
- It is the terrorists that appears to be having a decisive say. Hamas says, No deal means captives in ‘coffins’

Benjamin Netanyahu dismisses Israel-Hamas war cease-fire demandsCBS News by Haley Ott. Imtiaz Tyab contributed to this report September 3, 2024 Extracts: Benjamin Netanyahu dismisses Israel-Hamas war cease-fire demands as UK limits weapons exports Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will "not give in to pressure" to agree to a cease-fire with Hamas -- 1. in the face of massive protests in Israel 2. as well as US President Biden saying Netanyahu's not doing enough to end the nearly 11 month war in Gaza 3. and Britain's government restricting the sale of some weapons to Israel Just give into murderous and "reckless acts of terrorism" Speaking Monday after dramatic protests following the killing of six Israeli hostages, Netanyahu said he would not back down on some of his demands in the ongoing cease-fire negotiations aimed at stopping the fighting, at least temporarily, to allow the release of dozens of hostages still held in Gaza Netanyahu insisted that "the achievement of the war's objectives" requires Israel to maintain control of the Philadelphi Corridor, the strip of land along the border between southern Gaza and Egypt Egypt's government has voiced its objection to an Israeli military presence on that border and Hamas has demanded a complete Israeli withdrawal from the area as part of any cease-fire agreement Netanyahu has made control of the strip between Gaza and Egypt a condition in ceasefire negotiations - options other than an Israeli military presence on the Philadelphi Corridor
Experts have suggested technological solutions including surveillance and ground sensors could effectively control efforts to rebuild Hamas’s smuggling tunnels -- Sure thing "ironclad" guarantee! as was evident! 07 October 2023 massacre- UK restricting the sale of some weapons to Israel
The UK government announced Monday that it would suspend some of its arms exports to Israel, citing a "clear risk" that the weapons could be used in violation of international humanitarian law The UK government said it was suspending 30 of the approximately 350 licenses for items being used in the current conflict "The UK continues to support? Israel's right to self-defense in accordance with international law" British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, described the UK government’s decision to suspend around 30 out of 350 export licences to Israel as "shameful" and "misguided" But human rights groups have called for the suspension of all new and existing licenses to Israel, saying the new restrictions are full of loopholes Thanks! Britain for hand-cuffing Israel and boosting the terrorists -- whilst Arms to the terrorists are pouring in unrestricted, into their already boundless Arsenal cache

ICC to decide whether to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and GallantThe Guardian By Guardian staff and agencies Reuters and the Associated Press contributed to this report 04 September 2024 Extracts: ICC to decide whether to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant in ‘coming days’ report says Israel’s justice ministry ‘cautiously optimistic’ court will decide against issuing warrants, Haaretz reports Sources within Israel’s justice ministry believe the International Criminal Court (ICC) will decide in the coming days on whether to issue arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and his defence minister, Yoav Gallant, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports The sources are “cautiously optimstic” the court will decide against issuing the warrants, according to Chen Maanit, a reporter from Haaretz ICC prosecutors say there are reasonable grounds to believe Netanyahu and Gallant as well as Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, military chief Mohammed Al-Masri and another Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, bear criminal responsibility for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity Gallant and Netanyahu have both rejected the allegations put forward by the ICC’s prosecutor Haniyeh was assassinated in Iran late July. The court has since declined to comment on reports of his death Israel has said it killed Al-Masri, also known as Mohammed Deif but Hamas would neither confirm or deny this Haaretz reports :The officials said the government’s refusal to set up a state commission of inquiry to investigate the events of the war as recommended by attorney general Gali Baharav-Miara, along with the fact that Israel has been lagging in its own investigations of alleged war crimes – something that would preempt ICC action under the principle of complementarity – strengthen the likelihood that the court will accept chief prosecutor Karim Khan’s request for the warrants Nevertheless they added, the court recently received 26 legal opinions supporting Israel from other countries, organizations and academics and this bolsters the chances that it will reject the warrants The officials said they expect the court to issue its decision within days or at most a few weeks Again, there is no equivalence between Democratic Israel and murderous terrorists
