Probably to some extent, but I'm guessing it hasn't been the same since Montagna did what he did and Vito's death After those two died and the other leader Nicolo, Agostino Cuntrera, Paolo Renda who knows? I'm not a big believer in the future of that miserable world, but I strongly suspect that at least some underlings of these individuals have retained connections with New York. While the Bonanno family's influence may have diminished significantly, these ties remain too valuable for either side to sever. I remember being shocked when I discovered that they held an initiation ceremony in Canada with Buffalo's second-in-command back in 2015. So why should we be surprised if they are still entangled with the Rizzutos? Let's also not forget that Jack Bonventre remains a high-level player within the Sicilian contingent of the Bonanno family. Could he be linked? Given his lineage, I’d say it’s more than possible.
But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away

Good post Bonventre is the son of Antonino Bonventre. The Bonventres had deep ties into the Bonanno family, through intermarriage and blood ties.

mafia clans are VERY ACTIVE in montreal. new italian names continue to pop up in investigations although not a ton. most clans in montreal build alliances and use street gangs for hits, arsons, shootings etc. making the need to recruit new members not as important as in ny. the almighty dollar rules in canada not specific italian ethnicity. if you are a criminal with street cred it matters not what yer last name is in montreal but if you can make money money and keep yer mouth shut.
What about Toronto and Hamilton

in hamilton both violi bros are now free and out of jail. domenico as far as we know continues to serve as underboss of the buffalo crime family. there have been no recent attacks against them since doms release, the musitanos are all dead and any associates have retired or become allied with other crime groups. i do not know of any other mafia groups currently operating in hamilton outside of the luppino-violi clan.
In the court documents, Violi is quoted as saying the Musitanos were supporting the Cuntrera's — a crime family that has roots in Montreal and Toronto. I violi are from montreal, that's where il porco died and their uncles. paolo, dom and joe have all been recorded on the phone, seems they're comfortable like that lol then they make a cop and joe violi was on a telefono saying they were taking over with the bikers (stadnik and wolvespack with ned kuruc). these guys are trusted and respected? smells like cops. more French Canadian influence in Ontario lol.

in toronto the 'ndrangheta continues to be #1 mafia group in area. once in toronto there was 7 'ndrine, now closer to 4/5 all with ties back to calabria. i am not sure if the so called 'siderno group' still exists and is in control as of today. the most powerful in no order appear to be; commisso, figliomeni, ursino and coluccio. as far as who is running the ursino 'ndrine with giuseppe imprisoed i do not know, same can be said about coluccio. vincenzo tavernese was alleged to be point of contact for them, i am not sure if this is true today. the commissos have long been the most well known and dominant for decades and the figliomeni are coming off dismissals in proj sindicato bust 2019, looking into illegal gambling and money laundering mostly. The Commisso family, nicknamed quagghia and also called the Macrì family, are a powerful 'ndrina originating from Siderno with branches in Canada , Argentina and Australia. They are also among those that the Canadian police forces in synergy with the Italian police forces have renamed Siderno Group. Figliomeni also called Rumbo-Galea-Figliomeni 'Ndrina is one of the sub-units of the mother-Locale of Siderno. The Ursinos are a powerful 'ndrina from Gioiosa Jonica , allied with the Aquinos from Marina di Gioiosa Jonica and the Cordìs from Locri. Coluccio-Aquino 'Ndrina in Marina di Gioiosa Ionica. Giuseppe Coluccio is a cousin of Rocco Aquino and Giuseppe Aquino, the bosses of the Aquino 'ndrina in the town.
