Another building was on fire. Two people killed, a mother and here 7 year old child. Its the second time that a building of the owner was put on fire. Last year, one of his building was put on fire, and 7 people died. It seem the owner his being extorted by gangs. https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/...al/victimes-d-une-guerre-d-extorsion.phphttps://www.journaldemontreal.com/2...eurs-victimes-dactes-dextorsion-violentsVictims of an extortion war? A mother and her 7-year-old daughter died in the arson that devastated a heritage building in Old Montreal during the night of Thursday to Friday, La Presse learned. This heart-setting drama could be the most recent episode of a pizzo war engaged in three criminal groups, and of which the restaurateurs and barkeepers of the metropolis are the helpless victims. Pizzo is the name given to the amount of money or "tax" that traders and entrepreneurs must pay to the mafia, in exchange for its protection. In reality, it is a form of extortion that, in Montreal and the surrounding area, is no longer exclusive to the mafia or motorcyclists. While previously, establishments had to pay a pizzo to a single organization that controlled the place or sector, they are now targeted by two other gangs who want their share of the cake too, and make fun that the restaurant or bar is already "protected". "The big difference within organized crime is that before, there was a certain understanding, bikers, the mafia and others were under the same umbrella. But now, what we see is that certain codes are no longer respected, "explains Sergeant Nicolas Giguère, of the Eclipse squad. For example, protection rackets. Before, there was only one group that did that, and that group was under the umbrella in power. But now, there are places that are being extorted, set on fire or targeted by shots, by other players who are trying to appropriate this market. Before, there was only one gang that did that. Now there are three, and they have no respect for the organization that already controls or protects the place, "continues the sergeant. The forces involved The Eclipse police did not want to reveal the names of the gangs involved in this three-way fight, but according to our sources, it would be a group called Arab Power and gangs led by Atna Onha, alias Tupac, and Jean-Philippe Célestin, member of the Marauders, club-school of the Hells Angels of Montreal.

Please don't be surprised if this gets cross-posted in several threads here. Jack Simpson, who was among several individuals sentenced in the murder of Sal Montagna -- Simpson pulled the trigger -- is now a Hells Angels hangaround in the Trois-Rivières chapter.

Everytime I see a post saying he's in imminent danger.... I always get confused. I think people really think he's some kind of mafia flunkie. Or that he was just DiMaulos brother in law. He was one of the top gangsters in Quebec for a reason. His power didn't come from the mafia. He was powerful in his own right, and this made him attractive as a partner WITH the mafia... You're right, but he can still be hit. Anyone can be hit. And it seems like the bikers have their own war with other gangs now, despite seeming all powerful just a few years ago. I'm not saying Reynald is absolutely going to get killed, but if he does, it wouldn't exactly be a surprise.

Wow the HA’s backing Raynald is definitely interesting, especially considering Boucher was ready to hit him in jail. Could explain how he’s lived this long but how long can his luck run?
And yea he’s definitely not a mob flunkie for sure. Dude is without a doubt one of the top non Italian gangsters in Montreal and has been that way for a long time but once again how long can the HA’s keep protecting him with a target on his back? If Sollecito/Rizzuto does not get things in gear up there the Sicilians will be wiped out for sure with this lack of action on their part. I don’t think they were behind Woolley’s death either, I think that was either the HA’s or the Arab’s at this point Not really backing him but offering him protection. By the time Maurice Boucher was trying to hit Raybald Desjardins he was out of the Hells Angels in bad standing.

I don’t think they were behind Woolley’s death either, I think that was either the HA’s or the Arab’s at this point Woolley was their muscle and they were seen at his funeral so I'd say it's 100% they weren't behind his murder. But I wouldn't say they've been lying down. They were probably behind Chit Del Balso's murder last year and it looks like Chit switched sides and allied with the HAs. That was a big hit, and very professionally done.

He then set fire, along with other individuals, to the vehicle of Djamil Pizzi, the son of the influential mafioso Marco Pizzi."
