Israel has often misjudged the possible outcome of a war with Hezbollah, such as in 2006. The goal was to destroy Hezbollah. After more than a month, a ceasefire was reached and the Israeli army withdrew, without a clear victory.
Hezbollah has only grown stronger since then. But the Israeli army hasn't been sitting still in recent years either. It will hit back hard and Hezbollah knows it won't win.
well i don't think so both sides know they have a lot to lose in a scenrio like that... lebanon will look like gaza, and israel will go back 50 years.
but if iran will give them the order to go on full scale war and will help them (because i can't see iran losing 2 proxies in one year without at least saving nasralla's ass from being defeated)
