The IDF named the slain soldiers as Maj. (res.) Nael Fwarsy, 43, a logistics company commander in the 300th “Baram” Regional Brigade’s 299th Battalion, from Maghar, and Sgt. Tomer Keren, 20, of the Golani Brigade’s 51st Battalion, from Haifa. Fwarsy was killed and another soldier was lightly wounded after an explosive-laden drone launched by Hezbollah struck an area outside Ya’ara in the Western Galilee. Keren was killed and eight other soldiers were wounded, including one seriously, after two anti-tank missiles launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon struck a position in the Ramim Ridge area on the border in the Galilee Panhandle. https://www.timesofisrael.com/at-le...tank-missiles-and-drones-fired-at-north/After Israel completes it's ground operation in Lebanon, I certainly hope that Israel will take enough land to have a proper Buffer Zone from Lebanon and their Terrorist Hezbollah.

Israel is being lammied! Again, there is no equivalence between Democratic Israel and murderous terrorists From: BBC September 19, 2024 UK foreign secretary calls for Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire -- now that ceasefire between Israel and Hamas been achieved.... UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. "Tonight I'm calling for an immediate ceasefire from both sides," Lammy tells the Reuters news agency, after meeting his French, American and Italian counterparts for talks in Paris. "We are all very, very clear that we want to see a negotiated political settlement so that Israelis can return to their homes in northern Israel and indeed Lebanese to return to their homes."

- It is hard to think of an attack more calculated to sow fear and confusion -- terrifying in their scope
- Hezbollah members were blown up in supermarkets, on the street, in their cars, at home, next to their children
- At a time when Hezbollah and Israel have been locked in a low-level war for almost a year, these attacks will have devastating consequences for Hezbollah’s manpower, communications and morale
- With large numbers of Hezbollah's personnel now injured and its vital communication network massively - and embarrassingly - disrupted, this would clearly be a tempting moment for Israel to take advantage
“Revenge is a dish best served hot with exploding pagers and walkie-talkies How can you fight such evil? unremitting dedication to the destruction of Israel such multi-pronged, collective terrorism, combined altogether Hit and Run brutal terror from ALL sides of Israel, this tiny nation especially allies hand-cuffing Israel.... and United terrorists Secretary General

World reacts to UN vote calling on Israel to end Palestinian occupationAl Jazeera and news agencies 19 September 2024 Extracts: United Nations General Assembly UNGA resolution, backed by 124 countries -- small potatoes! -- makes it clear that occupation ‘cannot be allowed to continue any longer’ - Palestine’s ambassador to the UN
Palestine’s ambassador to the UN Riyad Mansour called the vote a turning point “in our struggle for freedom and justice” “It sends a clear message that Israel’s occupation must end as soon as possible and that the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination must be realised” Mansour said - Israel’s ambassador to the UN
Israel’s ambassador to the UN Danny Danon slammed the vote as “a shameful decision that backs the Palestinian Authority’s diplomatic terrorism” “Instead of marking the anniversary of the October 7, 2023 massacre by condemning Hamas and calling for the release of all 101 of the remaining hostages, the General Assembly continues to dance to the music of the Palestinian Authority, which backs the Hamas murderers” Danon said Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed the resolution and urged countries across the world to take steps to pressure Israel to adhere to it “The international consensus over this resolution renews the hopes of our Palestinian people – who are facing a comprehensive aggression and genocide in Gaza and the West Bank including Jerusalem – to achieve its aspirations of freedom and independence and establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital” Abbas said Hamas The Palestinian armed group said it “welcomes the adoption” adding that it reflected “the international community’s solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle” Oren Marmorstein, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on X that the resolution was “a distorted decision that is disconnected from reality, encourages terrorism and harms the chances for peace” The US mission to the UN called the resolution “one-sided”, pointing to its failure to recognise that Hamas “a terrorist organization” still exerts power in Gaza and that Israel has a right to defend itself “This resolution will not bring about tangible progress for Palestinians” the US said “In fact, it could both complicate efforts to end the conflict in Gaza and impede reinvigorating steps toward a two-state solution, while ignoring Israel’s very real security concerns” European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said in a statement: “The UN General Assembly has forcefully reaffirmed its commitment to the realisation of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including its right to an independent and sovereign State ?living side by side in peace and security with Israel? -- Democratic Israel and murderous terrorists -- in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly” ?!Is EU for real?!

long dominated by countries hostile to Israel -- UN, ICC, ICJ, EU, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch ?!Are they for real?!
and the 'allies' Including Australia, Britain, Canada, Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and !Ukraine! abstained while 124 voted to demand Israel end Palestinian 'occupation' and some -- while the murderous terrorists keep raining terror on Democratic Israel
French President Macron condemned the bombings, expressing solidarity and sympathy with the people of Lebanon
newly elected British government very speedily dropped, the previous government's opposition to an international arrest warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu despite pressure from Washington not to do so
The list goes on and on....

In his first televised speech since the unprecedented attacks, which took place over two days and killed at least 37 people, Nasrallah on Thursday called them a “big blow in terms of security and humanity” but said they have failed to bring the group to its knees.
He conceded the attacks were “unprecedented in the history of the resistance movement in Lebanon” as well as “in the history of our country” and “our enemy”.
But Nasrallah said Hezbollah would continue supporting Palestinians in Gaza “no matter what the consequences are, what the sacrifices are, what scenarios will unfold”.
He added that what happened did not impact the group’s command, control or infrastructure. “I reassure you our infrastructure has not been touched,” he said.
“He is down, but he is defiant,” Al Jazeera senior political analyst Marwan Bishara added, referring to the Hezbollah leader. “[But] it’s a major blow to Hezbollah. There is no doubt about that. ”
“But at the same time, there was something that felt ambiguous when he spoke about keeping the accountability or the retaliation within a very small circle. I think he spoke about the investigation within the organisation, within Hezbollah.”
“We have an answer from him that he’s definitely going to come back but without saying when and how,” Analyst Sultan Barakat, a professor of public policy at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar, told Al Jazeera, adding that the speech aimed to present a “partial win” for Hezbollah.

Israel’s attacks on Lebanon: Lebanese group Hezbollah has confirmed its senior commander, Ibrahim Aqil was killed in an Israeli attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
It seems Israel is winning the battles but no sign of victory of this year long, terror war Hezbollah commander killed in Israeli airstrike was top military official on US wanted list https://apnews.com/article/lebanon-...-attack-8ec89de2b117b52e2c09b19155e35d13BEIRUT, Lebanon, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Israeli jets carried out a strike Friday targeting a senior Hezbollah military commander in Beirut's southern suburbs, the main stronghold of the Iran-backed group, killing and wounding several people and causing considerable damage, according to witnesses and media reports. The targeted Hezbollah commander was identified as Ibrahim Aqil, who reportedly was killed in the strike. Hezbollah has not confirmed the assassination of Aqil, who heads the Radwan unit made up of the party's elite fighters. On April 18, 2023, the U.S. State Department announced a $7 million reward for any information leading to the identification and arrest of Aqil, known as Tahsin and serving on Hezbollah's highest military body, the Jihad Council. He was a principal member of the Islamic Jihad Organization that claimed the April 1983 bombings of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, which killed 63 people, and the October 1983 U.S. Marine barracks, which killed 241 U.S. personnel. He also was involved during the 1980s in the kidnapping and holding of U.S. and German hostages in Lebanon. The Lebanese Health Ministry said eight people were killed and 59 others injured in the air strike, which led to the collapse of two residential buildings. Eight of the wounded were listed in critical condition. https://www.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2024/09/20/Lebanon-airstrikes/6021726819447/

In the EU only Germany and the Netherlands trully defend Israel, the UK as well. Interesting however that populist rightwing parties in Europe do back Israel now, because they see the problems with too many Muslim immigrants. Don't know -- these 'allies' all abstained in the recent controversial [ultra extreme] UN resolution demanding Israel withdraw from Gaza and the West Bank, the “one-sided” failure to recognise that Hamas “a terrorist organization” still exerts power in Gaza and that Israel has a right to defend itself, against terror As regards the immigrants, I plead the Fifth.... exercising my right to remain silent and not incriminate myself!

Israel GPS 'spoofing' ABC Australia by Basel Hindeleh and Matthew Doran in Jerusalem and Chérine Yazbeck in Beirut 22 September 2024 Extracts: Booby-trapped pagers and walkie-talkies are not the only ways Israel has been hitting Hezbollah's communications Since the start of the Gaza war, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been deploying a tactic known as GPS "spoofing" designed to fool enemy missiles and rockets that rely on the global positioning system technology to aim at their target And while it may have helped deflect some aerial attacks, it has also been disorienting for everyday people — making modern map technology on smart devices unavailable and disrupting important civil infrastructure, commercial aircraft and even dating and food delivery apps "Spoofing" in terms of GPS, is about making a device such as a mobile phone — or in war, a missile — think it's in a totally different location — and the GPS apps will tell you that you're actually a hundred kilometres away, from where you actually are.... - It's not blocking the GPS signal. It's confusing it
Professor Todd Humphreys from the University of Texas told the ABC Australia, initially Israel denied responsibility for the spoofing as it is considered a dangerous act but later acknowledged it was happening, calling it "GPS interruption" Professor Humphreys says "If you're choosing between just jamming the signal and spoofing the signal, spoofing is a more potent defence"
"Because a spoofing signal gets past many of the checks inside a GPS receiver, it can be less powerful and yet have an effect further from the transmitter" Israel is shielding against any GPS-guided weapons fired in its direction - Despite this, Hezbollah demonstrated its reach and ability to evade defensive systems when it sent in a video drone to film Haifa and when it launched its long-awaited response to the Israeli assassination of military commander Fuad Shukr in late August 2024
Many rocket launches were prevented by a pre-emptive Israeli attack or intercepted by Israel's iron dome defence system but the GPS spoofing may have also contributed to the minimal impact of the strikes Jennifer Parker, an expert associate with the National Security College at the Australian National University, says "When you think about missiles and uncrewed aerial vehicles that have been targeting Israel, a lot of them use GPS to actually direct them to the target"
"So if you can jam the GPS, you can actually stop that weapon system from being accurate"

Hezbollah ‘enters battle of reckoning’ with Israel as world powers urge restraint Israel strikes targets in Lebanon as Hezbollah launches deepest rocket attacks since start of Gaza war
Both sides engage in significant escalation in conflict, prompting UN to say region is on ‘brink of imminent catastrophe’
The fighting between the IDF and Hezbollah militants is taking place in parallel to the unrelenting conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Hezbollah has said it has entered an “open-ended battle of reckoning” with Israel after launching a series of rocket attacks on the north of the country as world powers implored both sides to step back from the brink of all-out war.
In a significant escalation of the conflict, Israeli warplanes carried out their most intense bombardment in almost a year across southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah responded with its deepest rocket attacks into Israel since the start of the Gaza war.
The events prompted the UN secretary general, António Guterres, to warn of the risk “of transforming Lebanon [into] another Gaza”.
During a funeral for a top commander killed along with 44 other people in an Israeli strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday, Hezbollah’s deputy secretary-general, Naim Qassem, said on Sunday that an “open-ended battle of reckoning has started”. “Threats will not stop us,” he said. “We are ready to face all military possibilities.”

As Israeli warplanes pounded border villages and more than 100,000 residents fled northwards, politicians in Beirut called for de-escalation to avoid a war as authorities said four people had been killed and nine injured over the weekend.
But the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was also trenchant in his rhetoric.
“In the last few days, we have inflicted on Hezbollah a sequence of blows that it did not imagine. If Hezbollah did not understand the message, I promise you it will understand the message,” he said.
“No country can tolerate shooting at its residents, shooting at its cities, and we, the state of Israel, will not tolerate it either … We will do everything necessary to restore security.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said early on Sunday that hundreds of rockets had been fired into Israel from Lebanon, with some landing near the northern city of Haifa.
They said rockets had been fired “toward civilian areas”, pointing to a possible escalation after previous barrages had mainly been aimed at military targets.
Six people were reported to have been injured.
