The reference that the collaborator of justice Davide Bilardi makes during an interrogation before the magistrates of the DDA of Reggio Calabria is to a ticket that was allegedly given to him by Claudio Bianchetti , arrested like him during the operation "Atto Quarto" which shed light on the operations of the Libri gang not only in the historic stronghold constituted by the Cannavò neighborhood and surrounding areas, but also in other neighborhoods of Reggio, in some of which there are division agreements with the De Stefano and Tegano gangs.
The relationships with Edoardo Mangiola and Totò Libri
" I met Claudio Bianchetti because Edoardo Mangiola introduced me to him, indicating him as his partner", explains the collaborator of justice. Several times in the reports that have become part of the "Garden" trial underway in Reggio Calabria, Bilardi refers to the relationships with Edoardo Mangiola and Totò Libri and to what the two allegedly told him: "Even though I originally entered the Arcoto criminal context, and in particular, that attributable to the Tegano family, as I have already said, I have always had a deep bond with Totò Libri and Edoardo Mangiola, top exponents of the Libri gang". " Totò Libri – adds Bilardi – was "obsessed with the 'ndrangheta" , even though he came from a respectable family. He became the regent of the Libri gang on the instructions of Filippo Chirico. Edoardo Mangiola was a very high-profile member of the Libri gang (in my opinion, even more influential than Totò Libri himself, because he was more operational than him ).
The passing of “command” to the Holy Spirit
And after Mangiola's arrest, according to what Bilardi reported, there was a real changeover for control of the Spirito Santo neighborhood. "It was Bianchetti himself," the collaborator of justice says, "after Mangiola's arrest, who made me understand that he was the new boss of the Spirito Santo gang. Bianchetti came with a person and told me explicitly that he had taken Edoardo's place , making me understand that he was the new boss of the gang in that area. He told me: "Now I'm in Spirito Santo instead of Edoardo." It was very clear what he wanted to allude to," explains Bilardi, who also says of Bianchetti: "He came to offer me drugs. He had his own team for drug trafficking purposes."
The ticket from prison
According to the collaborator, after his arrest, Bianchetti had looked for a way to communicate from prison to someone outside the decision on his succession at Spirito Santo. "When, in December 2023, I was released from prison from the TDL, before leaving prison - says Bilardi - I said goodbye to Claudio Bianchetti who was detained with me. Bianchetti told me that he wanted to send a letter to his wife: he gave me a note telling me that it was intended for omissis . When I was out of prison, I decided to read the note (because I had become suspicious and had sensed that perhaps it was not addressed to his wife), removing the tape that wrapped it. In the note, Bianchetti wrote to omissis to tell omissis that he should take his place at Spirito Santo ("... that now he was at Spirito Santo"): it was a real investiture in the role of 'ndrangheta ".
