On that note, I believe that Joe's brother, Charlie DiPalermo, aka; Charlie Brody, falls into the same category. He did a ton of time behind jail...but technically, died while a free man.

Sonny Franzese

No doubt. Sonny did a ton of time behind bars....almost 40+ years.

They're not dead yet. But you gotta figure that Gene Gotti and John Carneglia will fit this category completely. (provided of course, they don't get sent back in for something else.)

Both are currently free. But both served over 30 straight years in the can...And both are well into their seventies now.

Chicago's Angelo J. “The Hook” La Pietra also did a long bid, only to come home and die.

He served a lot of time also, but NJ Genovese capo Andrew “Andy Gerard” Gerardo was also paroled and retired down to FL (I believe,) and later died down there.

Christopher “Ticker” Furnari, he went away with his partners, Tony Corallo and Sal Santora in the Commission Case. He served over three decades in jail, and despite his buddies dying behind bars, Ticker managed to win a compassionate release at the 11th hour, when he was already well into his nineties. He died shortly thereafter being paroled.

Outfit leader John “Jackie” Cerone - died just 6 days after being released from federal prison.

Andrew “Mush” Russo. He had previously served multiple long prison terms and ended up dying while in detention, awaiting trial on a new case, when he passed.

Gambino associate Anthony Senter just got released in June, 2024, after having served 30 years in stir. He already 70 years old. Spent his entire life so far behind bars. This is another guy who has had a real tough road and way to go.

I believe that Chicago's Paul "The Indian" Schiro served close to 20 years

Longtime Colombo capo and Persico confidante, Dominick "Donny Shacks" Montemarano

Peter Limone did 33 years, got released with a 26 million dollar oops we made a mistake settlement, served as boss for 7yrs, died a free man.

Yep, Limone was raked over the coals real good....33 years might as well be a lifetime!

And the $26M is great....but I'd rather of let em keep the 26, and not have done the 33.
