Hezbollah ‘making it incredibly difficult’ for Israeli ground forces in south Lebanon
Here in southern Lebanon the war is continuing the same way it has done for the last 24 hours – intense bombardment plus claims and counterclaims
1. The Israelis saying that they killed a certain amount of Hezbollah fighters 2. Hezbollah saying that they’ve killed 17 Israeli soldiers
Now we are getting a much clearer pattern of what the Israelis are trying to do They are trying to use certain parts of the southern Lebanese border to try and push into southern Lebanese territory, in order to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure on the immediate border However they can only do that if they successfully get into southern Lebanon
Hezbollah is making it incredibly difficult for the Israelis because they know this territory much better than anybody else Hezbollah doesn’t have artillery They don’t have anti-aircraft guns. What they do have is the knowledge on the ground
The current aerial bombardment campaign they cannot fight successfully. What they can do is fight on the ground And so Israeli is finding it very, very difficult to get a foothold into southern Lebanese territory
