Jarre took his spectacular show to China in 1981, an incredible and singular occurrence at the time. “This show would have been considered futuristic in London, Paris or New York, but in China it was like an alien had landed,” he said later. “And then China closed the door again after that. It just opened for one year and then closed again. So it created something very special between lots of Chinese people and myself.”
