MILAN Domenico Papalia, son of the historic boss of the 'ndrangheta in Lombardy Antonio, has been arrested, with a precautionary custody order in prison, in an investigation by the Milan prosecutors Sara Ombra and Leonardo Lesti, centered on the accusation of association aimed at drug trafficking, in particular cocaine. Investigation conducted by the Gico of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Milanese Gdf. In particular, as anticipated online by Corriere della Sera and Fatto Quotidiano and confirmed by qualified sources, in recent days five precautionary measures have been carried out by the Gdf, including that against Domenico Papalia, 41 years old and already involved in other investigations in the past. The name of Domenico Papalia, among other things, appears (but not as a suspect) in the documents of the Milanese investigation into the San Siro curves, which led to 19 arrests more than two weeks ago. In the documents, in fact, it is reported that the AC Milan ultras leader Luca Lucci, who ended up in prison, is “close” to Rosario Calabria, who in turn is linked to Domenico Papalia, “son of Antonio”, who is serving a life sentence and “belongs to the homonymous 'ndrangheta family orbiting in the Milan area (Corsico/Buccinasco)”. In the investigation into drug trafficking from Northern Europe, which involves over 50 suspects, some requests for precautionary measures have been rejected by the investigating judge Anna Calabi, who at the same time has set preventive interrogations for other suspects for the hypothesis of drug dealing – before the decision on the measures – foreseen by the recent reform.
