West Babylon, located in southwest Suffolk County, Long Island is a quiet residential community that is 99.9% devoid of any "mob activity."
If anything, one could describe the neighborhood as being largely bucolic, especially years back, and filled families and small businesses. NO street corner mobs, no open racket activity, etc.
There have been a number of "mob" social clubs opened in the area over the past half-century that hosted card games, gambling, shylocking, etc. But those were far and few between...and well hidden from the general public.
Over the years many mobsters have come and gone. Most moved there for a time with their wives and children. But, to put things in proper perspective, that could pretty much be said about any neighborhood on Long Island, or NYC as well as many parts of NJ and CT.
I have several uncles and aunts and cousins that live there. So I'm very familiar with the area.
