Record cocaine catch in DR was on its way to Antwerp
The Dominican Republic’s anti-drug police (DNCD) announced this weekend that it had seized the second largest amount ever in the country: 2.2 tons of cocaine. The seizure was made in the port of Caucedo and had been shipped from Panama.

The police took action on the container full of sports clothing and shoes after information was received from abroad. The container was not precisely identified in that information so that dozens of containers were put through the scanner before the cocaine was found.

The container contained 2,198 heaps of pressed cocaine with a number of different stamps, indicating that several investors were involved in the transport.
