Yanks had too many mistakes. 5-0 lead and you cough it all up in 1 inning with 3 costly errors. LA just wanted it more. Gotta resign Soto for sure and Judge needs to show up in October. He's the new A-Rod, gaudy numbers during the regular season but MIA when it matters the most.
Much of downtown has turned into a cesspool. Homeless people, addicts and people who belong in mental institutions are literally roaming the streets. One of our employees got attacked on 6th and Spring where all the bars are. Thankfully, she's alright
But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away
Checking in. Tough loss for the Yanks. They lost doing the little things wrong but it didn’t feel like they were hitting well enough either. Re-signing Soto is a necessity for them. But we cannot stop there.
That 5th inning was a disaster but overall the major difference in the series was freeman who I think hit every big run in the series. Overall I didn’t think we quite had the team to do it, next year is going to be interesting likely going in with jazz 3B, who knows at 2B, new 1B, 3 or 4 either AAA, resigned or new bullpen arms and all that assuming we do get Soto. Gonna be an interesting offseason!
Agreed, now they must sign Soto and keep building their lineup. I am hoping that Dominguez is the real deal and that Volpe figures out how to patch the holes in his swing. I believe in him a lot but he must take a big step forward this upcoming season.
The bullpen played great but I still worry about them as well as our rotation. Cashman has some work to do outside of just brining Soto back.
Not terribly upset Soto left. Seemed like the Yanks did everything they could to resign him. Offered another year to the deal and were only $5 million short. Seems like Soto just didn't want to go back. Frees up payroll to invest in other areas the team needs.
Time will tell. In the short time it hurts but long term, I'm happy not to have the contract on the books. Yanks already pivot and sign Max Fried for 8 years/$218 million. Let the shopping spree begin.
Yanks trade Nestor Cortes and prospect Caleb Durbin to Milwaukee for All-Star closer Devin Williams. It's a nice pickup but Williams is a FA after next year. Hope the Yankees don't have another 1-year rental on their hands.
Since losing out on resigning Soto, the Yankees have pivoted brilliantly by signing Max Fried, trading for Devin Williams, resigning Jonathan Loáisiga, trading for Cody Bellinger, and signing Paul Goldschmidt. Yes, not having Soto in the lineup next year sucks but they're done a masterful job at filling in other holes with that money. Still need protection for Judge in the lineup though.
You are right, Yankees need more protection for Judge. Losing Soto is going to hurt the offense badly if they can’t find generate more offense than last year.
