Camorra, maxi blitz against the Scissionisti: 53 arrests in the Amato-Pagano clan
Large-scale operation by the Naples DIA against the Amato-Pagano clan, also known as Scissionisti for the division from the Di Lauro clan, with which it then gave rise to the so-called Scampia feuds: 53 people were arrested.
A severe blow to the Amato-Pagano clan was inflicted, at dawn today, Tuesday 17 December, by a maxi blitz of the Anti-Mafia Investigative Directorate (Dia) of Naples: 53 people are the recipients of precautionary custody measures. The 53 suspects, believed by investigators to belong to the so-called Scissionisti clan - given the division from the Di Lauro clan, with which it then gave rise to the bloody feuds of Scampia - are accused, to varying degrees, of mafia-style criminal association, extortion, possession of weapons and other crimes.
This morning's blitz originates from the investigations of the Operations Center of the DIA of Naples, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples. The Amato-Pagano clan, operating between Melito, Mugnano and some areas of the Neapolitan neighborhoods of Scampia and Secondigliano, was born, as mentioned, from the split from the Di Lauro clan, for which it was nicknamed the Scissionisti clan.
