Remo was a well respected cop and man…..anyone with an ounce of credibility would say the same
I tend to agree with your opinion. To my knowledge, Remo was taken seriously and respected as a cop by his fellow members in law enforcement as well as officials of NYC Government.
Among his other accomplishments, Franceschini was elevated to the rank of Lieutenant and placed in charge of the Detective Squad for Queens County, becoming the commanding officer over the District Attorney's personal detective squad.
You don't get a lofty appointment like that unless you are viewed as a respected and capable individual by your superiors.
Previous to this, as a young man he had served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1957. Thereafter, he joined the NYPD in 1957 and served with distinction as an officer for over 35 years. During this time he earned the heroic Combat Cross for Valour in 1961. After retiring from the force he penned a biography about his life and career.
So yeah, I'd say he was a well respected guy.
