Over the years the old man was able to accumulate enough wealth in a low-keyed manner to then be able to quietly and slowly build himself a small real estate empire...

In some ways I think Licata's significance may have lost in the shuffle of mob history. He seems to have been a constant in L.A. for many decades.

This was an interesting story, NYM. Licata seemed extremely business savvy and probably left a small fortune for generations....nice work.
