Saw a bit on TV yesterday, caught the Italy scenes from Part I. Couple things I noticed this time around:

* When Fabrizio goes inside the cafe to fetch Vitelli, he makes sure to bring his shotgun, and Calo also grabs his from the ground and hoists it up in plain view of Vitelli and brothers
* Fabrizio is the first one to notice Appolonia, he gives her a weird look (maybe he even smells her?) when she is descending down the stairs to first meet Michael; maybe part of his treachery had something to do with Mike getting the girl

I noticed for the first time... when the shattered Michael was crumbling after Fredo revealed himself as the traitor in the family, the bodyguard touches his hat in empathy and leaves as if he knew that was the final sign off for Roth's murder

An anomaly:

Paulie picks up Rocco and Clemenza in Paulie's car. Clemenza directs Paulie to pull over in the NJ Meadowlands so he can take a leak. Rocco shoots and kills Paulie. Clemenza tells Rocco, "Leave the gun. Take the Cannolis."

Ever wonder how Rocco and Clemenza got back home after leaving Paulie dead in the driver's seat of Paulie's car?

In the novel, they go to "a car parked nearby." It seems Paulie didn't notice it.

Exactly Pete. It would be helpful for Board members who haven't done so already to read the novel ... at least a couple of times. It answers alot of these Board questions.
