'Ndrangheta and drug trafficking, Italian-Albanian organization dismantled: 15 precautionary measures

BOLOGNA Since dawn, a police operation has been underway with arrests, searches and seizures - delegated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bologna - against 15 individuals, domiciled in various Italian provinces , 5 of whom are in the province of Reggio Emilia, suspected of having taken part in an Italian/Albanian criminal organization dedicated to international drug trafficking which, since 2020, has imported and purchased (from Albania, Kosovo, Ecuador, Colombia and the Netherlands) as well as held and sold throughout the national territory ( with, also, some distributions taking place from Emilia Romagna to Calabria ): 23 kilos of cocaine, 0.6 kg of heroin, 80 kg of hashish and 240 kg of marijuana for an estimated value of 8 million euros. The complex investigation revealed a criminal association whose ranks include individuals belonging to both ' ndrangheta -style organised crime and others linked to members of the Lazio crime scene. Further details will be provided during a press conference at the Provincial Headquarters of the Guardia di Finanza in Reggio Emilia at 11:00, in the presence of the Provincial Commander and the Police Chief.
