On November 19, 1996, Flesh-n-Bone, the most dangerous member of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony released his debut album, T.H.U.G.S. (Trues Humbly United Gatherin' Souls), through Rush Associated Labels (Remember Rush H? It was essentially an umbrella label created by Def Jam bosses Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen. Their goal was to capitalize on their connections to expand into other genres while keeping Def Jam focused strictly on hip-hop. Just a little industry insight for you. ;))

Yes, Crossroads was their biggest hit by far. At the time of its release in '96, it debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest-debuting rap single of all time. After just one week at #2, it jumped to #1 and stayed there for 8 consecutive weeks, setting a yet another record in the world of rap. Not only that, but it was also one of the fastest selling singles of all time. If my memory serves me correctly, they did about 2 million units in about three or four months
But you had to play it cool, had to do it your way Had to be a fool, had to throw it all away
