https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...o-che-la-sua-famiglia-era-molto-potente/ultras and crime 'Ndrangheta, Beretta and the friendship with Giorgino De Stefano. «I knew his family was very powerful» The story of the relationship with “Malefix”, convicted of mafia association. «I did him favors because he had problems» Published: 02/03/2025 – 7:00 MILAN "Giorgino? Ah, Giorgino, Giorgino De Stefano, yes...". It took Andrea Beretta a few moments to remember the name and, above all, to understand who the prosecutors of the Milan DDA were referring to in a specific question addressed to the now former Inter ultra leader, who has been a collaborator of justice for months. Then the prosecutors specified that the real surname is in fact Condello, but apparently Beretta didn't even know it. Together with Beretta, the investigators tried to shed light on the relationships maintained over the years by the former head of the Nerazzurri North with Giorgio Condello Sibio, known to all as Giorgino "Malefix", son of the 'ndrangheta boss Paolo De Stefano, head of the Archi clan of the same name, killed 40 years ago. Malefix A few years ago Giorgino De Stefano changed his surname, taking that of his father. The scion of the Archi clan has several investigations behind him for mafia association, such as the well-known operation “Malefix” of 2020, also involving his relationship with Silvia Provvedi, one of the sisters of “Le Donatella”. Giorgino De Stefano was sentenced to 12 years and 8 months in prison for mafia association, extortion against some entrepreneurs and also for illegal possession of weapons, crimes aggravated by the mafia method. Sentence confirmed in the summer also on appeal. Giorgino De Stefano and his partner Provvedi «He belonged to a strong Calabrian mafia family» A very well-known name in Milan, especially in the nightlife. And, apparently, a great friend of Andrea Beretta, who explained to the prosecutors the details of his acquaintance. «Always working at the Hollywood, a very popular club, I always know Giorgino through Matteo Garzia, who is from Reggio Calabria, while Giorgino was from Archi, and there a friendship was born because we were in the club and we met». And to the prosecutor's question if he knew who he was, the former ultra leader replied: «Yes, I knew who he was. Well, but in the nightlife world I knew who everyone was (...) I knew that he belonged to a Calabrian family strong at the mafia level». And again: «Maybe we went to play football together, we played five-a-side football, he invited me to his town, I went with my wife to his town, I went with my wife down to Reggio Calabria, with my wife Marina, who didn't have the baby yet, I almost conceived the baby there...». READ ALSO: OPERATION MALEFIX | Boss engaged to showgirl arrested «We met in Milan, he was running a club» Roughly speaking, therefore, the episode dates back to around 16 years according to Beretta's story, "but he was down, then he moved to Milan because his mother was here, we met in Milan, then he went back down to his family, then he came back up, he went back and forth a bit, he wasn't always in Milan, let's say". Then the prosecutor asks him: "What do you know about Giorgino De Stefano?" "I know that he ran a place called "Oro", he had shares in this restaurant and made it work hard, it was a place that worked hard in the evening. And then, through some friends of ours, through Daniele from security, we put security in the place for him, this kind of stuff here..." And again: "Have you ever spoken to De Stefano about the stadium situation?" the prosecutors ask Beretta who answers: «(…) when they came basically… I had a problem, let's say they came to my sports center to threaten me, saying “we'll park Vittorio”» and he mentions a member of the Irriducibili, Arduino, brother-in-law of Carlo Testa, «a man from Milan» and an elderly man who, according to Beretta «was part of a heavy family, they said, who is Morabito or Mancuso». The issue, according to the story of “Berro” was linked to the lack of funding «of the leader of the “Irriducibili”, Mimmo Hammer, detained for crimes that had nothing to do with the stadium». bellocco ndrangheta north curve inter The North Curve of Inter The interests of the North and the Irriducibili In his story to the prosecutors, the former black and blue ultras leader talks about the clashes with Arduino during a meeting organized in a restaurant in San Siro. A meeting to which Beretta brings a few friends: Nino Ciccarelli, Matteo Garzia and, of course, Giorgino De Stefano. «They tell me “keep calm”» he tells the prosecutors, «except that by now I had my head and I jumped on them, I jumped on Arduino, they tried to (…) and then I threw a table at him, then they took it from my hands, and he ran away from the restaurant (…) I was really crazy by then». And he explains to the prosecutors why he was so angry. «I understood that they had tried to pull off the coup, since Vittorio wasn't there, they wanted to take over, the direction was to oust me, since there was no cover for Vittorio, and take control of the situation». And the reference is, obviously, to the Curva Nord. The “specific weight” of Giorgino De Stefano It is in this context then that the prosecutors are wondering about the presence of Giorgino De Stefano at this meeting in the restaurant in San Siro. "He accompanied me on a friendship level because he saw that I was... I told him that these people came...", says Beretta, but when asked more specifically, he says: "We were friends, we knew each other, Giorgino's specific weight, of course I called him for that because they were... they came among the villagers". And again: "Yes, his specific weight was for that, but he had nothing to do with the story of the stadium, he came only to give me a hand, so much so that he said: "Please, why the fuck are you making me come, then you start off like crazy, what did I come for?"". Andrea Beretta then tries to be even more specific: "I did him favors, in the sense that in Milan he had had some problems, one evening he had been drinking, arguments, I had gotten involved, he saw that I was a guy who works in the world of security". The prosecutors illustrate to Beretta the details of a wiretap dating back to March 5, 2020 between Caminiti and Garzia, in which this episode is referred to. «“ He says that it was the Irriducibili, the Africoti brought them to him. Pino, they tried to take away the curve from him ,” says Garzia, “that I went to Giorgio’s house the next day and he told me that they had gone to him first to ask him if he had financial interests there and he told them 'No, but I have been a good friend of Andrea’s for years and there is a lot of respect, don’t you dare touch him'” ». «You see that things are coming out?» Beretta blurts out in front of the prosecutors, moved, «because things are coming out, then my blood boils». But the prosecutor asks him: «Did De Stefano ever tell you that he had had this approach?» «No» replies Beretta. ( g.curcio@corrierecal.it )

Mafia trial: How the 'Ndrangheta has established itself in NRW Status: 03.02.2025, 14:19 Since Monday, eight alleged "'Ndrangheta" members have been on trial in Düsseldorf. How is the mafia positioned in NRW? By Andreas Poulakos Regular border traffic with a built-in drug stash under the back seat: eight Germans are said to have organized the smuggling of almost 900 kilograms of cocaine on behalf of the Italian mafia. Since this Monday, they have had to answer for their actions in the high-security wing of the Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf . Mafia trial: "Little knowledge about organization" | audio Trial begins: The cocaine couriers of the Italian mafia | more How exactly does the Italian mafia work in NRW ? What crimes are its members involved in? And how do the police and the judiciary take action against the criminal networks? Questions and answers. Police forces secure evidence during a raid (03.05.2023).Trial begins: The cocaine couriers of the Italian mafiaWDR Studios NRW February 3, 2025 00:47 min. Available until February 3, 2027 WDR Online Which mafia groups are active in NRW? According to the North Rhine-Westphalia State Criminal Police Office (LKA), Italian mafia organizations are among the most dangerous and best organized structures of organized crime in Germany. According to investigators' findings, the mafia group 'Ndrangheta, which originally comes from Calabria, is particularly present in North Rhine-Westphalia . According to the LKA, other groups such as the Camorra and the Cosa Nostra play a minor role in comparison. According to the LKA, North Rhine-Westphalia serves the 'Ndrangheta as a base, retreat and hub for illegal business - especially for concealing income from the trade in cocaine and other drugs. Sandro Mattioli] While the State Criminal Police Office assumes that there are a low three-digit number of 'Ndrangheta members in NRW , Sandro Mattioli from the "mafianeindanke" association refers to findings from the Italian public prosecutor's office. According to this, there are around 60 "local associations" of the ' Ndrangheta in Germany , each of which has more than 50 members. If this is true, the number of members of the Calabrian mafia in NRW is likely to be much higher than previously known. What business is the 'Ndrangheta involved in? In addition to international drug trafficking, the ' Ndrangheta has also been attracting increasing attention for years through its activities in the area of ??economic crime. The operation of numerous " legal facades " such as restaurants or other medium-sized companies is said to facilitate money laundering on a large scale. The Federal Ministry of Finance states: " The criminals use business areas with a difficult-to-understand flow of money in order to record the illegal income as 'real' sales." Betting shops and restaurants, for example, are suitable for this. The laundered money can then be used in normal commercial transactions. After the Mafia raid: This is how money laundering works | more In 2023, according to the current "Situation Report on Organized Crime" of the LKA in NRW, four "Italian-dominated groups" were investigated for drug trafficking, which were proven to have links to the 'Ndrangheta and Camorra . In the area of ??economic crime, the investigators also uncovered a criminal " sales tax carousel " in the European motor vehicle trade. They also investigated suspected Mafiosi for billing fraud by operating fictitious corona test centers. How do the authorities take action against the criminal networks? The ' Ndrangheta came into the public spotlight in Germany primarily as a result of the so-called Duisburg Mafia murders in 2007. As a result of a dispute between two rival family clans, six people were shot at close range in front of an Italian restaurant in August of that year. The perpetrators were later brought to trial in Italy and sentenced to long prison terms. As a result, the authorities increased the pressure and in particular sought closer international cooperation in the pursuit of mafia networks. The number of investigators was greatly increased, and the authorities also increasingly relied on wiretapping measures and undercover investigators. Suitcase with a gun and blood-stained money with pistol cartridges, drug bags and a slice of pizza next door. The Italian Mafia in Germany – Well camouflaged and underestimated | planet-wissen Are there any successful investigations? As a result of the intensive investigations, the police carried out a number of spectacular raids in the following years. For example, at the end of 2018, there were searches and arrests in several European countries as part of the "Pollino" operation. Suspected 'Ndrangheta members in Duisburg, Wesseling and Pulheim also came under the investigators' scrutiny. Starting in 2020, 14 men were initially brought to trial on various charges and some of them have already been convicted. The trial is not yet complete. Major Duisburg mafia trial enters fifth year | more In May 2023, searches and arrests were carried out in ten European countries as part of Operation Eureka. In North Rhine-Westphalia, for example, there were operations in Siegen, Wuppertal, Essen, Dortmund and Bonn. The current trial before the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court is just one of several proceedings that were only made possible as a result of Eureka. A car breakdown puts investigators across Europe on the trail of a drug network. At the center: Germany. The Mafia in NRW: How "Operation Eureka" succeeded | more What problems are there in law enforcement? Although Germany is probably the most important location in Europe for the Italian mafia after Italy, the justice system is often powerless against mafiosi, said expert Mattioli in an interview with WDR on Monday . " They can largely remain quiet here as long as they are not guilty of violent crimes ." Unlike in Italy, mere membership in a mafia organization is usually not enough to lead to a conviction. As a rule, the perpetrators only become dangerous if the investigators can prove that they have committed a specific crime. However, this is often difficult, not least because only a few suspects cooperate with the authorities. Confiscating the profits from criminal activities is also easier in Italy than here.

https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...ola-di-briatico-i-racconti-di-accorinti/THE INVESTIGATION 'Ndrangheta, the power of the Mellusos and the "bribes to Barbieri" for the school of Briatico. Accorinti's stories The repentant in one of the many reports given to the DDA of Catanzaro. «Niglia had given me money to get votes from me and my family» Published: 05/02/2025 – 14:25 VIBO VALENTIA Confirms all the accusations made in the “Costa Pulita” proceedings, a blitz by the Catanzaro District Anti-Mafia Commission, starting with the fictitious ownership of a tourist village. «As for the shooting of Barillari's car, I didn't do it, but I am the instigator. I am aware of the wounding inflicted by Marchese». The speaker is the collaborator of justice Antonio Accorinti (born in 1980), son of the alleged boss Antonio. His statements are contained in a series of reports dating back to 2023. The fire at the agency In particular, in a report dated May 19, 2023, Accorinti explained before the prosecutors of the Catanzaro District Anti-Mafia Office: «I can report on the fire at the village set by Antonino Tedesco on behalf of the Mellusos. I would like to point out that I am very good friends with Simone Melluso and the reason was that he wanted Trimboli to pay him the bribe». And again: «I know about the fire at Antonino Staropoli's agency. There was an argument and Simone Melluso set it on fire, also risking hurting himself». In this regard, during his statements, Accorinti clarified: «Antonino Staropoli, at least until 2015, was part of the Melluso group and not of the Mancusos as I had mistakenly said. The fire had been started by Simone Melluso to make him understand that he had to stay with them and not go near the Bonavitas, with whom he was also related and had begun to frequent more assiduously». Furthermore, always according to Accorinti's story, «Simone Melluso slapped Giovanni Sicari in front of me, after seeing him in the company of Gregorio Niglia, making him go and call Antonino Tedesco, Giovanni Sicari's brother-in-law». The extortion for Niglia's votes Antonio Accorinti then reports on the extortion against the school «carried out by Andrea Niglia» . «I know because there were elections and I was given money by Niglia himself and Massara to get votes from me and my family. I can also report the extortion underway on Briatico Vecchio and on the damage to Safò bay. I am aware of the fact that a cleaning company in Lamezia was the victim of an extortion that I don't know if it was successful». And again: «I also know of the owner of a restaurant in Zungri, who in past years had sent 500 euros for the prisoners and had given them to Giuseppe Armando Bonavita. I know for sure that the company for which he made these supplies, in this case solar panels, gave the bribe to Francesco Barbieri». "This individual, in addition to the restaurant business, also has an air conditioning company that also supplies and installs solar panels and, in relation to the contract for the elementary school in Briatico, I know that he paid these 500 euros to Giuseppe Armando Bonavita. Also with regard to the construction of this school building, I know that the company in charge of the construction work, whose name I do not know, paid money to Francesco Barbieri." «The Prestias took orders from the Mellusos» During his statements, Accorinti explains in detail a theft «a bicycle stolen from the body shop in San Leo di Briatico, a few months before my arrest, when the brother-in-law of the latter had gone to Briatico to visit a friend». The vehicle «was made to be found by Riccardo Melluso on my behalf. I had learned of this theft because, the next day, everyone was discussing it inside a pastry shop», explains the repentant. «I considered Landro a friend, he was a good guy who lent the vehicle to his brother-in-law to go to work, so I instructed Riccardo Melluso to see if it was the “pastorari”, or the Prestias, and, if so, to have it returned and bring it back to the owner», Accorinti continued. Then the repentant says he met Landro and told him about the theft. «I told him that the one who stole his bike was Andrea Prestia, a client of his, for whom, as with all of us, he used to do small jobs without getting paid» . «Prestia returned the bike to Melluso without opposing him in any way because the first one's family is under the Melluso family, I mean on a criminal level, they take orders from them». The investigation also includes the official who allegedly leaked "confidential information" to the clan Published: 02/06/2025 – 11:50 CATANZARO In the territory of Cutro there are several 'ndrangheta clans that try to pollute the economic and social fabric, through the classic illicit activities of the Calabrian criminal system: drug dealing and extortion. The then acting prosecutor of the Catanzaro DDA, Vincenzo Capomolla, during the press conference called at the Prosecutor's Office had revealed the details of the investigation called " Sahel ". Which hit " a 'ndrangheta association operating in Cutro and another dedicated to drug trafficking subordinate to the first ". At the end of the blitz , 31 precautionary measures were carried out . Months later, the investigation is officially closed. The mole in the prosecutor's office The list of 54 suspects also includes Renato Guarnieri , as a judicial officer in service at the Catanzaro Prosecutor's Office who, according to the accusation, " without being part of it, contributed, from the outside, to the Cutro 'ndrangheta association, in particular to the 'ndrina Martino , linked to the Grande Aracri family , with the task of providing confidential information on ongoing criminal proceedings involving the aforementioned family ". From what has been reconstructed by the investigators, Carlo Verni - brother-in-law of the 'ndrina boss Vito Martino, is said to have revealed "the existence of an investigative activity, which could actually have led to arrests between Crotone, Catanzaro and Papanice". https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...er-le-feste-fortuna-racconta-i-bonavota/THE MINUTES 'Ndrangheta, business in the North, video poker and “hampers” for families for the holidays: Fortuna tells the story of the Bonavotas To the DDA prosecutors, the former killer tells: «Domenico Bonavota sent quintals of grapes to Pantaleone Mancuso» Published: 02/07/2025 – 19:22 VIBO VALENTIA «In 2005 I took care of managing Peppe De Stefano's time as a fugitive inside the “Garden” village . The entrepreneur Facciolo got me the room even though he didn't know what I needed it for, in the sense that I didn't expressly tell him that the person who was supposed to occupy it was a fugitive, I don't know if he later realized it. Domenico Bonavota was also aware of this time as a fugitive, it was Giorgio De Stefano who asked me to be so kind as to take care of Peppe's time as a fugitive». It was the collaborator of justice Francesco Fortuna (born in 1980) from Tropea who spoke before the prosecutors of the Catanzaro DDA. A collaboration, however, that began to fail immediately. «(…) at the moment there are no conditions for continuing the interrogation and for promoting the protection program», the Office wrote in the first report, after Fortuna's first statements. Then things went differently, with the former Bonavota killer continuing on his path, ending up in the ranks of other excellent informers of the Vibo Valentia 'ndrangheta. The relationship with the Bonavotas And then he talked about his first relationships with the Bonavotas, «I grew up in their same town and I've known them since I was very young» he says, «I had excellent relationships with both Nicola and Domenico». And again: «In 1999, together with Domenico Bonavota, we opened a business in the livestock sector, carrying out a scam, taking goods without paying. In 2001, we opened another business in the name of Filippo Arcella, carrying out further scams». Regarding the relationships with the 'ndrina Bonavota of Sant'Onofrio, Francesco Fortuna told the prosecutors of the DDA that «Domenico Bonavota always respected Pantaleone Mancuso, so much so that he gave him 20 quintals of grapes every year. Among other things, Pantaleone Mancuso himself, when he had to ask for extortion for work in the municipality of Pizzo, sent them to Domenico Bonavota». And again: «I know that Luigi Mancuso provided Pasquale Bonavota with the car used for his wedding». Investments in the North In the statements made to the prosecutors by the repentant Fortuna, the Bonavota business is still at the center, even in Northern Italy. "I am aware that part of the capital invested in the Mandaradoni company was owned by Pasquale and Nicola Bonavota. Around the year 2000, Domenico Bonavota and I also financed Mandaradoni for around 50 thousand euros that he returned to us with great difficulty. Antonio Serratore also financed Francesco Mandaradoni". And again, Fortuna explains: "I can report circumstances related to the trips made to Northern Italy and the work done together with Giovanni Barone. The Bonavota brothers had interests in investing capital in Northern Italy . On the occasion of these trips, it happened that I passed through Rome to speak with Pasquale Bonavota and on that occasion I also met Vincenzo Alvaro. The latter on that occasion asked me if Barone was able to make bank guarantees in their favor". The Video Poker Business As had already emerged in other previous investigations, and as the repentant Andrea Mantella had also declared, Fortuna also spoke about the Bonavotas' business, and in particular Pasquale's, in video poker. "He was the first to spread these machines throughout the Vibo Valentia area together with some Neapolitan individuals. When he realized the business they were creating, after 5/6 months he distanced the Neapolitans and started working alone". "The Mancusos also began to show interest in this sector, enticed in turn by the fact that it was very profitable and Pasquale Bonavota, in order to avoid conflicts, decided to sell all the machines to Santo Furfaro, keeping only a 50% share of the profits deriving from those installed in the 9/10 most profitable places". «At Christmas and Easter we sent up to 400 baskets to families» The informer delivered a manuscript to the DDA prosecutors, clarifying some salient features of the Bonavotas' ties with other 'ndrangheta groups. "At Easter and Christmas our group would prepare up to 300/400 baskets to be given to members of other families. These are things we have always done because the Bonavotas have always paid attention to this kind of attention." "Among these families, I can point to the Alvaros, for example. I remember, in this regard, that I, the Bonavota brothers, Onofrio Barbieri and others from my group often went to Mico Alvaro, known as "Scagliuni", when he was under house arrest. I would also like to point out that Carmelo Lo Bianco, known as "Piccinni" from Vibo Valentia, took care of its allocation." The “internal charges” About the powerful Bonavota clan, Francesco Fortuna explained to the prosecutors. «They were not very attached to the affiliation rites, although Vincenzo Bonavota cared a lot about these things and even his children were all replaced. In this case I know that Pasquale Bonavota had the “sgarro” and it was he who never wanted to go beyond this quality, believing it to be the only one that really mattered». «Domenico Bonavota, on the other hand, as far as I know, has the quality of the “godfather”. I know that they included their friends or in any case subjects closest to them in the copies, without following the Polsi rules, that is, the fact of having to include some pre-established names. In essence it was an internal thing, of assigned positions, but which remained at the level of our territory», Fortuna finally explained. ( g.curcio@corrierecal.it )

https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...ontati-da-un-ex-pm-e-un-ex-gran-maestro/THE TESTIMONIALS Deviant Freemasonry and 'Ndrangheta, the strong powers told by a former PM and a former Grand Master De Magistris: «I told my people “we must be afraid in the Palace, not outside”…». Di Bernardo: «This is how I resigned from the Grand Orient of Italy» Published: 02/09/2025 – 14:12 COSENZA The former prosecutor who wanted to eradicate the political mafia-mafia and the former grand master who left freemasonry due to too many criminal infiltrations find themselves in agreement on an unusual Saturday night in Cosenza: in one of the cities with the highest Masonic incidence ( with the monumental headquarters of the Grand Orient of Italy in via Trento ideally “challenging” the Palace of elective democracy ) the public fills the Ubik bookshop for the presentation of Luigi de Magistris' book “Poteri forti” (Fazi Editore, 2024), in the presence of Giuliano Di Bernardo. “An unprecedented dialogue” will be the opening words of the book's author. Stimulated by the reflections of journalists Claudio Cordova and Saverio Di Giorno, the two recount from different angles and experiences the most controversial phases of republican life and the season of massacres and terrorism, of the interference of the USA to slow down the advance of the PCI and of the role of the subversive right and deviant secret services in the mysteries of Italian history: Banca dell'Agricoltura, Piazza Fontana, the Moro case, Bologna station, the Falcone and Borsellino massacres, State-mafia negotiations. The subtitle of the volume from which the reflection begins serves to direct its meaning: «From P2 to institutional crime: the perennial coup against the Constitution and democracy» . Almost two hours of debate to cover the time span from the American landing in Sicily during the Second World War to the security decree – against which in the meantime there is a demonstration in the nearby Piazza XI Settembre – passing through two investigations “taken away” from two magistrates: that of Agostino Cordova on freemasonry and mafia and, precisely, that of de Magistris on the alleged transversal dome that pulled the strings of Calabria at the beginning of the millennium. Calabria Laboratory What are occult powers? De Magistris starts with a dry definition: «Powers exercised by people with leading roles in public and institutional life or in the professions, united by business and in some cases criminal ties: people who use their roles to ratify decisions taken elsewhere. These powers are at the origin of the greatest betrayal of the democratic life of our country, between bombs, attempted coups and criminal laboratories like the one in Calabria . Institutional crime – states de Magistris – is that which achieves its objectives using its bullets made of stamped paper and exploiting silence, which favors the 'ndrangheta». The former prosecutor, then mayor of Naples with a left-wing civic movement and also a candidate for the presidency of the Calabria Region, speaks of "a river of public money that over the years has brought to Calabria a sort of Pnrr, managed by a criminal laboratory that has operated under the guise of the emergency to the detriment of the Calabrian people: a pact between large companies in the north, Roman and local politics both center-right and center-left and, indeed, occult powers. The most powerful and refined strategy not of collusion with the State but of conquest, of penetration throughout Italy: today it is the 'ndrangheta clans that use the institutions and not vice versa , the children of the bosses study at university and attacks are not necessary otherwise the reaction of the people will be unleashed with sheets from the balconies". In de Magistris's story there are also controversial figures such as Giancarlo Pittelli and Giuseppe Chiaravalloti, "just sanctified" in mortem by all political parties: the names of the protagonists of the political-judicial Calabria of twenty years ago echo, the one that makes the former PM say without mincing words that "I repeated to my people that outside the Palace of Justice we were calm, it was inside the Prosecutor's Office that we had to watch our backs..." . Giuseppe Valentino in Paolo Romeo's studio Among the vast Demagistris anecdotes, the story set in the Reggio office of Paolo Romeo, convicted in the first instance in the “Gotha” trial and linked to what the former prosecutor defines as «a neo-fascist mass-mafia political dome closely connected with Avanguardia Nazionale» stands out: a bug intercepts Romeo's dialogue with the former undersecretary of Justice with Berlusconi , now in FdI and recently proposed for the vice-presidency of the CSM, «it seems like the famous letter from Totò and Peppino if it weren't for the fact that Romeo tells Valentino what he has to say the day after at the inauguration of the judicial year…». From left: de Magistris, Claudio Cordova, Saverio Di Giorno and Giuliano Di Bernardo yesterday at Ubik in Cosenza for the presentation of the book “Poteri forti” by Luigi de Magistris, published by Fazi «A power center recognized by the USA» Di Bernardo, to get to the reasons that led him to leave the Grand Orient of Italy to found a new lodge ( on the Goi website he is listed as "expelled" and his page is blank ) instead starts from figures like Lucky Luciano and Calogero Vizzini who were decisive in the landing of the allies in Sicily "controlled by the mafia and freemasonry. The architect of this project - he says - was Frank Gigliotti , a member of the Oss, the organization that preceded the Cia, at the top of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite as well as a trustee of the New York mafia. The plan of the USA is to enslave Italy to their political creed to face possible attacks from the Soviet Union: and to do this they choose the Goi, which obtains the recognition of the great lodges of North America. The nascent Italy is created in this way: the United States thanks the mafia and freemasonry by placing certain people at the top of the State". Another key figure in Di Bernardo's story is Giordano Gamberini , who from 1961 "reformed" the Grand Orient of Italy by implementing the wishes of the USA: English recognition and rapprochement with the Church. «The Goi becomes the longa manus for the exercise of American power in Italy, and the center of power that carries out the orders of the American government is the P2, the lodge to which Grand Master Gamberini belongs, who delegates Licio Gelli to represent him first as secretary and then as venerable master». P2, Calabria and the investigation by Agostino Cordova Di Bernardo says that Gelli reorganized the lodge because "armed wings" were needed: " If we could see the real list of P2 we would find all the heads of the 'ndrangheta and Cosa Nostra. I have photocopied documents from the Goi archive and I can affirm that P2 is not a deviant lodge, for this reason I invite the grand master of the Goi to abandon his denialism to resolve these problems and emerge from the fog". The theme of criminal infiltration in Masonic law is closely linked to the investigation by Agostino Cordova . Di Bernardo recounts his experience as follows: "Over thirty years ago, when I was forced to "campaign" to become grand master, I was accompanied in Calabria by the deputy grand master Ettore Loizzo and it was he himself who told me "we are not going here because there is infiltration of the 'ndrangheta..." . At the time I did not give much importance to those phrases and I thought that I would take care of it if I were elected". Di Bernardo is elected. «I visit the regional constituencies and the number one of Palermo, the lawyer Massimo Maggiore , during the Agape (ritual of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, ed. ) calls me aside and tells me where not to go, for the same reasons: Campobello di Mazara», Matteo Messina Denaro 's last hideout . In September 1992 Cordova's investigation into Freemasonry and in particular into the Goi begins, «but I – the former grand master says – already in June, from London where I was for the celebration of the 275th anniversary of the foundation of English Freemasonry, was summoned to Vienna by 23 European and American grand masters, who had been informed by embassies and secret services and told me: we are certain that something more negative than P2 is about to take place in the Goi due to criminal infiltration, and this would be damaging for all world Freemasonry . So, when I returned to Rome, I called the council and after reporting that news I heard the answer: it's impossible! Nobody believed me, since then I found myself alone and they started attacking me to force me to resign". Freemason Lists in the Gagged Computer Cordova asked Di Bernardo for the list of Calabrian Freemasons, "many were involved in crimes - says the former grand master - and I had no difficulty in providing them to him because in this way he would have done me a favor in eliminating them. But when he asked me for the list of all the Freemasons in Italy I replied that I did not have the authority to do so, I replied "come back with a search and seizure warrant" and so he did: he gagged my computer and put two carabinieri on guard. From the analysis of those lists, connections with the northern regions emerged, and his intuition was precisely that of having prefigured the presence of the 'ndrangheta in the north". The story continues with a new meeting of the council, the governing body of the Goi, and with Di Bernardo who informs all the Calabrian leaders «looking them in the eye: I asked the most authoritative of them, Ettore Loizzo, to tell me the truth and he confirmed that the majority of the Calabrian lodges are infiltrated by crime . I could even tolerate arms trafficking, but not that! I wanted to remove the impurities but my transparency project failed miserably: I was alone against everyone and I could only leave. And yet everything I said then has come true today. The so-called “democratic freemasonry” is a contradiction in terms, the traditional one – initiatory and esoteric – ended in 1918». And what happened to the investigation of Agostino Cordova? «It was taken away from him and passed to the Rome Prosecutor's Office, from where they called me and said “we don't have time to look at all those documents in the basement…”. The investigation will be archived». «Constitution Heartbeat of Italy» Closing the interesting meeting, de Magistris has an easy time suggesting the parallel between his investigative activity and that of Cordova, due to the end that the two Calabrian investigations had: «In the port of fog» . A final anecdote: «A year and a half ago – the former PM reconstructs – during a hearing of Rinascita Scott, Pittelli, a member of the Goi, attributes the origin of his ills to me, in 2007: I would have invented the existence of mass mafias, then suggesting them to the collaborators. My wrong? A colleague, while I was packing the boxes to leave my office, would have been that of having put myself against the summits of power and colluding lodges: he added that these powers would have followed me forever. Today to describe the “strong powers” ??I do not speak of deviant apparatuses because we are not talking about officials but of summits… everything has been turned upside down and if anything we are the deviants» smiles the former PM. «We live in an apparent democracy but the Constitution can be the beacon against any criminal power: it is not a book but the heartbeat of Italy». https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...gli-affari-e-la-rotta-della-droga-video/he interview of the Corriere della calabria The 'Ndrangheta-Camorra relationship, business and the drug route – VIDEO Journalist and writer Vincenzo Sbrizzi guest of “In 10 Minuti”, broadcast on L'altro Corriere Tv Published: 02/09/2025 – 7:10 COSENZA The representatives of Camorra, 'Ndrangheta and Cosa Nostra sit at the same table, the suspicion - emerged in some of the recent anti-mafia operations - is of an agreement for the creation of a sort of confederation. This is the theme at the center of the in-depth column "I n 10 Minuti ", broadcast on L'altro Corriere Tv. Guest, Vincenzo Sbrizzi journalist, writer and two-time winner of the "Giancarlo Siani prize". "Drugs are certainly the fundamental element as regards the financing of illegal activities. Then this money is reinvested in some way. The 'ndrangheta has a real predominance as regards wholesale trade, in the sense that it has the capacity to import large quantities of cocaine especially from South America and then resell them also to other criminal organizations, such as the Camorra ". The 'Ndrangheta-Camorra relationship The relationships between the mafias were crystallized already at the beginning of the Sixties, then there was an evolution crystallized in recent investigations, such as Hydra . « Northern Italy and the rest of Europe are a hunting ground for the mafias and paradoxically Southern Italy is a terrain that allows less movement because all the activities are now registered, controlled. In Northern Italy, however, they still manage to have some room for maneuver, especially in the reuse of illicit capital». But the extent of the actions of criminal organizations continues to be underestimated. « In our country there is still a great difficulty in accepting that the Northern regions have now become fertile territory for the mafias committed to reusing capital». “Napolinegra” and migrant trafficking Vincenzo Sbrizzi's latest book is called " Napolinegra ": twenty-five stories of men and women who reached Italy after dramatic journeys aboard boats. " Napolinegra is a title chosen to shake up a little the consciences that seem completely asleep . Migrants are targeted, used as a propaganda tool and in reality it is a social problem that affects our peninsula". (fb)

https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...con-il-boss-di-palmi-legato-ai-bellocco/THE INVESTIGATIONS Drug trafficking that unites 'ndrangheta and Cosa Nostra: business with the boss of Palmi linked to the Belloccos Emanuele Cosentino (born in '88) is involved in the investigation by the Palermo DDA. Arrested in Germany in 2018 after years on the run, he is the nephew of the mother-in-law of Totò Bellocco, killed last September 4th Published: 11/02/2025 – 18:49 LAMEZIA TERME Ever closer and more profitable relationships. A synergy that has become increasingly alarming over the last few years, thanks to the numerous operations and subsequent arrests that have opened an ever deeper breach in the links between the Calabrian 'ndrangheta clans and the various Cosa Nostra families beyond the Strait of Messina . Relationships reflected in the large quantities of drugs discovered, intercepted and seized that have given investigators the dimension - albeit partial - of an increasingly large and recognized shared business. The arrests A reconstruction that finds confirmation in what emerged in the latest investigation by the Palermo Anti-Mafia District, which today executed an arrest warrant for 181 people on suspicion of crime . A massive operation carried out since dawn today in the heart of Palermo and the suburbs, with the use of over 1,200 Carabinieri. A blitz that allowed the decapitation, thanks to the investigation by the Carabinieri of the investigative unit, of the districts of Tommaso Natale-San Lorenzo, Porta Nuova, Pagliarelli and Bagheria, while the military of the anti-crime section investigated the clan of Santa Maria di Gesù. And the names are "excellent". There are Tommaso Lo Presti (class of '75) known as “the slob”, considered the head of the Porta Nuova district, Nunzio Serio (class of 1977) , regent of the Tommaso Natale district, Guglielmo Rubino, from Palermo, class of '77, regent of the Santa Maria di Gesù district and Cristian Cinà (class of '88) , considered the head of the Borgo Vecchio family. The capture in Germany of Emanuele Cosentino Contacts and business with Emanuele Cosentino In confirmation of these reports, today's maxi-investigation also involves a Calabrian, considered by investigators to be one of Nunzio Serio's main references in the importation of large quantities of cocaine and hashish from Calabria to Sicily . This is Emanuele Cosentino, considered a member of the Gallico ndrangheta clan of Palmi. Born in 1988 in Palmi, Cosentino - as claimed by the prosecutors of the Palermo DDA - after being released from prison from the Parma penitentiary institute on 22 October 2023, would have first gone to Nice (on 16 January 2024) and, subsequently, to Barcelona (on 24 January 2024) while on 2 December 2023 and 28 January 2024 Cosentino would have gone to Palermo. In the Sicilian capital he had the opportunity to reunite with both Serio brothers. On the run and captured in Germany Emanuele Cosentino has a criminal record of the utmost respect, a "dangerous individual" as investigators described him a few years ago, intent on emerging and climbing the criminal hierarchy of Palmi. To the point of creating a dense network of contacts and friendships abroad: Spain, France and especially Germany. It is here that on March 2, 2018 his fugitive status will end, with his capture in Saarbrücken, a city in Saar, the southwestern state bordering France. At the time, Emanuele Cosentino had been wanted since 2013 because he had been sentenced on appeal to 7 years in prison for mafia association and extortion. In short, despite being just over thirty, he was already considered a 'ndrangheta boss. What betrayed him were his relationships with his family but above all those with his wife, Laura Nasso. It was thanks to the monitoring of their conversations that the Carabinieri were able to identify Cosentino and, above all, the woman's departure from Palmi to Germany. The ties with the Belloccos and the death of Totò The name of Emanuele Cosentino will come up for another circumstance, this time linked to the murder of the scion of the 'ndrangheta clan, Totò Bellocco. He is also in the apartment on Via Genova, under wiretaps by the Flying Squad and the Guardia di Finanza of Milan, together with his relatives, Berto Bellocco (Antonio's brother), his wife and daughter and his mother-in-law, Emanuela Gentile. As reconstructed by the Milanese investigators, in fact, the victim's relatives, after the murder, go up to Lombardy and, on the morning of September 5, try to have a meeting in the prison of Saluzzo with Totò's older brother, Domenico Bellocco. Emanuele Cosentino will be the one to inform him of Antonio's death. On the same day, the investigators intercept a conversation between Antonio Bellocco's mother-in-law, Emanuela Gentile and Berto to whom the woman asks for "revenge", to "not give up" and, therefore, to react. https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...del-compare-calabrese-appena-scarcerato/THE INVESTIGATION 'Ndrangheta and Cosa Nostra: taking over Palermo with the drugs of the "Calabrian buddy" just released from prison The projects of the Serio brothers of the «mandamento di Tommaso Natale» in contact with Cosentino. The network of “bosses” equipped with cryptophones revealed Published: 12/02/2025 – 6:46 LAMEZIA TERME "Hello, it's Emanuele. I've been released from prison." This is probably the phrase that Emanuele Cosentino (born in '88) uttered on the phone with his friends in Palermo. It's October 22, 2023, we're leaving the Parma penitentiary. On one end of the phone is the person that investigators call the "boss of the Gallico 'ndrangheta clan from Palmi," on the other are the brothers Domenico and Nunzio Serio , who in turn are called "the head of Tommaso Natale's district." An important phone call that marks - according to the accusation of the Palermo DDA - the new beginning of a fruitful collaboration. The field is the one that for some years now has unequivocally linked the Calabrian 'ndrangheta to the Sicilian districts of Cosa Nostra: drug trafficking. The meeting The first important evidence comes – again according to the prosecution – the following day (October 23, 2023), during a sort of meeting in which the two Serios explained to Francesco Stagno «what the new scenarios would be in the drug trafficking controlled by the Tommaso Natale mafia gang», the Agrigento mafia branch that, up until that moment, «would have provided drug supplies for the Palermo gang». And there was also a harsh criticism of another Agrigento associate, Pietro Capraro “Pitrinu”. The latter, in fact, speaking with the Serios had said that the Calabrian Emanuele Cosentino was even dead. Evidently false news. In short, a new balance of power in the field and a new criminal scenario linked to the release of the Calabrian boss that the Agrigento associate would have had to accept. And that was it. Emanuel Cosentino Drug trafficking that unites 'ndrangheta and Cosa Nostra: business with the boss of Palmi linked to the Belloccos The stages in Sicily after prison In fact, the investigative findings revealed that at the invitation of the Serio brothers, the Palmi boss had gone to Palermo at least three times: on December 2, 2023, January 28, and February 1, 2024. In this last meeting - the DDA investigators are certain - the sending of drugs to Sicily, divided into five packages, would have been included. There is a wiretap between Stagno and another individual during which the former communicated to his associate in charge of managing drug trafficking the "recommendations made to him by the Serio brothers". The need was to "immediately honor the economic commitments for the supplies of narcotics from Cosentino". The diktat was clear: do not make a bad impression. The group would have met a few days later, on February 6, 2023. A private meeting between Nunzio Serio and Francesco Stagno organized inside the home of the mafia boss. The two discussed Emanuele Cosentino's health problems while Stagno allegedly gave Serio some money, receiving the formal task of maintaining relations with the exponent of the Calabrian 'ndrangheta. Encrypted phones It is at this point that the investigators realize that they have discovered something even bigger. It was the computer bug installed in Stagno's phone that revealed it - needless to say. In this way, the investigators acquired crucial information on what were the new confidential communication channels used by Nunzio Serio and other Cosa Nostra mafia associates, many of whom were high-ranking. The mafia association decapitated by the massive Carabinieri blitz the mafia association would have in fact used encrypted communication tools but also an efficient and fast coordination structure between various territorial articulations and that would have allowed the association to "continue to pursue, today as in the past, an organic and coordinated strategy in business and related illicit activities". The list of bosses inserted in chat The first “turning point” comes precisely when one of the cryptophones, the one used by Nunzio Serio, begins to show signs of malfunction. Technical problems that his partner Stagno would also have encountered. So the district boss asks him “to set up a new encrypted device”. A blow for the investigators because, through the interceptions in progress on Stagno’s “normal” cell phone, they manage to capture – in sequence – all the contacts that Nunzio Serio inserts into the new cryptophone during the setup phases. Some of which were identified, according to the DDA, “with absolute certainty”. There is Emanuele Cosentino – the “Calabrese buddy” as the two Sicilians call him – and then Tommaso Lo Presti , regent of the Porta Nuova mafia district – the “slob” who is approaching forty years of marriage, the two still say – Guglielmo Rubino , regent of the Santa Maria di Gesù mafia district – the one who would have taken his own life for them, they say – the associate Angelo Barone – recently returned from Malta – the mafioso Cristian Cinà , member of the Borgo Vecchio mafia family, and then Giuseppe Auteri – brother Peppe – at that time a leading figure in the Porta Nuova mafia district and a fugitive. Drugs from Cosentino to "take Palermo" Once the new cryptophone was set up, Nunzio Serio and Stagno "went back to discussing the next deals they would have to manage", with Serio, for his part, announcing the imminent arrival of a large shipment of drugs. The two, as emerged from the wiretaps, appeared particularly pleased "with the possibility of managing the large shipment of drugs" and "calculated the profit margins of the deal, which they quantified at around 300 thousand euros". But there's more: the large shipment of drugs would have given them the possibility of selling it to other mafia syndicates in Palermo to whom "they would have had to apply the same price". The aim, in fact, was to avoid differences in treatment that would negatively impact their mutual relationships. For the investigators, there is no doubt that the supplier was the Calabrian Emanuele Cosentino. The latter, referred to as “compa'”, allegedly told them that he had identified a drug supply channel in Spain that would have allowed the purchase of large quantities of narcotics. A quantity sufficient to allow them to “command Palermo”. ( g.curcio@corrierecal.it )

The place
The searches also targeted a nightlife venue in the city , the Reverso Tower , whose shares had been purchased by the suspects with the money from frauds carried out with false invoices. In particular, the judges sentenced Antonio Carzo, the boss believed to be the head of the first Roman 'locale' together with Vincenzo Alvaro, to 18 years, and his sons Domenico and Vincenzo to 12 and a half years for the first and 9 years and 6 months for the second. Meanwhile, before the eighth criminal section of the Court of Rome, the other defendants who opted for the ordinary trial continue. https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...gi-gli-presto-70mila-euro-per-ripartire/THE MINUTES 'Ndrangheta, the Raso murder and the escape to Milan of Pino “U lupu”. The informer: «Uncle Luigi lent him 70 thousand euros to start again» Pasquale Megna's stories to the PMs of the Catanzaro DDA. "Giovanni Mezzodente explained to me that he had sent two Romanians to punish the Di Capua brothers" Published: 02/16/2025 – 6:49 VIBO VALENTIA «Some time ago I heard Domenico Cupitò, known as “Pignuni”, and my father, while they were talking to Antonio Mancuso, son of Peppe 'Mbrogghia, that Giuseppe Albanese, known as Pino “U lupu”, wanted to take over the guardianships in Nicotera Marina. I witnessed this conversation around 2003/2004, when Operation Dynasty had already been carried out. The Raso family, at the time referred to in the story, had the guardianships of the lands in the Nicotera area». The person speaking is the collaborator of justice, Pasquale Megna (born in '85), in front of the prosecutors of the Catanzaro DDA. The minutes have now also been acquired in the Rinascita-Scott appeal trial. The Murder of Giovanni Raso Among the many topics brought up by Megna, there is also the murder of Giovanni Raso. «“Pignuni” – he said – said that Pino “u lupu”, after his arrest for the murder of Giovanni Raso, wanted to sing it and said to Antonio Mancuso: ”thank goodness they immediately freed him because, otherwise, he would have sung it and certainly ruined your father” , referring to Peppe 'Mbrogghia». And, the repentant still recalls, «while “Pinguni” was saying these words, my father nodded and nodded because he in turn was aware of these events». In Pasquale Megna's story to the prosecutors, "Pignuni" allegedly stated, to the best of his knowledge, that Pino "u lupu" had accompanied Giovanni Raso to the place where I was later murdered and "that Giovanni Raso's mother herself had accused him because Pino "u lupu" had been the last person her son had left the house with". Furthermore, "I heard them say that, after Giovanni Raso's death, it was Pino "u lupu" himself who took over the guardianship of the Nicotera lands that were previously managed by the Raso family". "I can't say who then physically killed Giovanni Raso" the repentant reiterated but "I certainly heard "Pignuni" say that Pinu "u lupu" had accompanied him to the place of the murder and that it was a good thing he had been released from prison immediately, otherwise he would have sung and ruined his father". "Shortly after Giovanni Raso's death, his uncle, whose name I can't say, but I know he's called "the Vampire", was also killed in Rosarno." "I know that the murder dates back to before I was born and I also know that Giovanni Raso's body was found in a well in a field in the countryside. I can't say if there was a trial, I only know that Pino "u lupu", after his arrest, was immediately released from prison." The escape to Milan of Pino “u lupu” The investigators’ questions to the repentant Megna focus, in particular, on the figure of Giuseppe Albanese, Pino “u lupu”. “Since he returned to Nicotera Marina,” he said, “I know that he is with his uncle Luigi. First they had sent him away and he had moved to Milan, I remember that the fact dates back to shortly after Luni “Scarpuni” had become engaged to my aunt Tita Buccafusca , but I cannot say why he was kicked out of Nicotera Marina but I only know that my uncle “Scarpuni” had kicked him out.” And again: “Since Albanese returned to Nicotera he was with uncle Luigi, I know because my friend Leo Lentini had to recover some money that belonged to uncle Luigi. Leo told me that Albanese had received 70 thousand euros from uncle Luigi when he returned to Calabria to start over, to “restart”. And so he had to give him back this money. Therefore, Albanese had put a piece of land he owned up for sale to recover this money.” Regarding the land, the repentant clarified: «I know that before the murder I committed, the land had been sold in two parts: a first piece had been purchased by a saleswoman who works at my fish shop and then Albanese sold the other piece, larger with a little house on it, to Domenico DI Capua's children, Giuseppe and Lisa, but I don't know which of the two he sold it to and who registered it in his name». The Romanians' attack on the bar in Nicotera Marina Still on the subject of Albanese, Pasquale Megna told the prosecutors other episodes that allegedly involved him. «There was a fight in a bar in Nicotera Marina, where two Romanians who worked for Giovanni Rizzo “Mezzodente” had pulled out knives and attacked the brothers Carlo Di Capua and Salvatore Di Capua, because some time ago these two brothers had had a fight or at least there had been some heated words with Pino “u lupu”, then I learned from Giovanni “Mezzodente” that he had sent these two Romanians». However, as Salvatore Zungri also told me, these two Romanians killed Salvatore Di Capua because they had him under them and Salvatore Zungri himself had managed to take the knife out of their hands, while one of the two Romanians who had him under them and was holding him by the hair was about to cut his neck». «It was “Mezzodente” who told me that he had sent them. These two Di Capua brothers got drunk and always created trouble: because of one of them, Carletto, I had the problem that led me to commit the murder of Giuseppe Muzzupappa". https://www.corrieredellacalabria.i...e-stefano-i-contrasti-per-le-estorsioni/"epicenter" "Serious fibrillations" between clans in Reggio after the release of Carmine De Stefano: the contrasts over extortion The relationships between the articulations of 'ndrangheta in the reasons for the appeal sentence. «Discontent in the Books and in the Molinetti family» Published: 02/16/2025 – 17:37 REGGIO CALABRIA The "fibrillations" within the Reggio Calabria 'ndrangheta and the leading role of Carmine De Stefano. The contrasts with Luigi Molinetti and the bad feelings caused by the distribution of the proceeds of extortion. The relationships between the various branches of the 'ndrangheta in Reggio Calabria are analyzed in detail in the reasons for the sentence of the "Epicentro" trial held in Reggio Calabria on appeal. There were 44 convictions , with sentences ranging from four to twenty-one years of imprisonment, (eleven acquittals and one "not having to proceed"), against members and underlings of the most powerful Reggio Calabria clans. The trial arose from three separate investigations by the District Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office which had highlighted the criminal hegemony of the "De Stefano" gang , around which the 'ndrine Tegano, Molinetti, Libri, Condello, Barreca, Rugolino, Ficara, Latella, Zito and Bertuca revolved . The hegemony of the "four families" of Reggio The De Stefanos, the Teganos, the Condellos and the Libris, the “four families” among whom the proceeds of extortion imposed on merchants and entrepreneurs in the historic center of Reggio Calabria are divided. The trial, which arose from the three investigations “Malefix”, “Metameria” and “Nuovo corso” , has highlighted the associative structure, the result of the federation between 'ndrine, proven, – as claimed by the Prosecutor -, «by a series of unequivocal demonstrative elements recently acquired in the context of the investigations that have merged into the present proceeding». A proceeding that «has definitively confirmed – in the light of the now recognized unitary vocation of the 'ndrangheta – the existence of a federation between the historic mafia families of Reggio, or operating in close operational connection with each other and, in any case, all subordinate to the catalyzing predominance of the Archi group, headed ultimately by the boss Carmine De Stefano ». On appeal, the judges referred to the reasons for the first-instance ruling, to underline how the association has "continued over the years without interruption, changing subjects, means and structure, but maintaining its criminal strength and power intact . The De Stefano-Tegano group (allied during the bloody "mafia war", fought between 1985 and 1991, against the group headed by the Condellos) constitutes a paradigmatic case of the "mafia model", the level of means used and the objectives pursued in controlling every economic, institutional and social activity in the Calabrian territory becoming very high ". The top role of Carmine De Stefano and the tensions between the clans The figure of Carmine De Stefano , sentenced to 20 years in prison, stands out in particular. "After his release in May 2017," the judges wrote in their reasons, "he had resumed the top-level role within his family that had already been recognized in the Olimpia trial. A role that all the subjects variously intercepted in the context of these proceedings recognized without reservations." A "top position" for De Stefano, " identified by all as the person with whom it was necessary to speak to resolve the problems that had arisen, of which he himself had been the cause ." And according to the judges, De Stefano, once released from prison, not only took back the reins of his family but "caused, with his demands, serious fibrillations within the 'ndrangheta operating in the Reggio area. He caused discontent in the Libri and Molinetti family with reference to the distribution of the proceeds of extortion . He somehow disturbed the aspirations of Luigi Molinetti in the Gallico area." «The data – the judges write – is in line with what emerges from the conversation of January 30, 2018 in which Antonio Libri explicitly says he learned from Domenico Tegano that for six months, that is, approximately, since Carmine De Stefano was released from prison, things had changed ( “Mico told me: «For six months now, things have changed» )». In another conversation we learn that “Carmine” (De Stefano ed.) and “Gino” (Molinetti ed.) had argued “over the Gallico events”. And again: a long conversation between Luigi (“Gino”) Molinetti, and his sons contains unequivocal references to Carmine De Stefano, nicknamed “occhialino”, and confirms that «in that temporal context the Molinettis were in conflict with the De Stefanos ».
