Israel's defense minister: Syria's leader revealed true face

Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed that members of the new regime in Syria led by Ahmad al-Sharaa are carrying out massacres against the civilian population, amid reports of dozens of deaths in clashes in northwest Syria between loyalists of the Assad regime and the forces of the new regime.

According to Katz, al-Sharaa who "presented a moderate face, has now taken off his mask and revealed his true face:
a jihadist terrorist from Al-Qaida who is committing atrocities against the civilian population."

Katz added that Israel will keep southern Syria demilitarized and protect the Druze population.
