The great thing about Gullit was that no matter where you played him, he was the best in that role. As a striker, he was the top striker on the team. Put him in midfield, and he dominated there too. Even as a defender, he stood out as the best. He may not have been better than Messi or Ronaldo, but he was a complete player who could excel in any position on the field. Growing up, I was a huge fan of his. When he and Maradona retired, I almost lost interest in the sport, but now, that passion is back. Good to see him looking fresh and healthy.
