Israeli democracy is now in grave danger, and the Supreme Court cannot protect it alone.

Almost everything that has happened in Israel since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's return to power in late 2022 can be described as unprecedented:
1. his government's assault on the Israeli judicial system,
2. the massive protest wave against it,
3. the October 7 massacre by Hamas inside Israel
4. and as a result of it, the longest war in the country's history
5. his declared intention to fire Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, a first in 77 years

No doubt Israel would have been wiped off the map
