Iran says it has not violated arms embargo in Yemen, says Yemeni authorities operate independently

Following statements from the US linking Iran to Houthi activity in the region, Iran said Monday that:
1. it has not violated UN arms embargo in Yemen
2. and Yemeni authorities "operate independently in their decision-making and actions.

Iran also told the United Nations Security Council on Monday that US President Donald Trump and other US officials had:
1. made "reckless and provocative statements" that leveled "baseless accusations"
2. and threatened the use of force against Tehran.

Iran's UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani wrote in a letter "Iran strongly and categorically rejects":
1. any accusation on the violation of relevant Security Council resolutions on arms embargoes in Yemen or
2. involvement in any destabilizing activities in the region
