Chicago Mafia’s Cicero Crew Beefing With Latin Kings & Things Turned Violent Last Weekend

March 27, 2025 — Bad blood between a volatile, recently-empowered faction of Chicago mobsters and Latin King gang members dating back decades erupted into fisticuffs at a popular suburban Windy City Italian restaurant this past Saturday night, per exclusive sources. The altercation allegedly took place at Capri Ristorante in Burr Ridge, a regular haunt for high-ranking button men in the Outfit’s Cicero and Elmwood Park crews, and involved the Cicero crew’s “Sarno Boys” group and a Latin Kings shot caller they call “Rooster,” according to first-hand sources on-the-scene at the dust up. Hands were thrown late Saturday evening after one of the Cicero crew members became irritated when Rooster reportedly got drunk and began acting belligerent towards patrons and restaurant staff and confronted him about it. Capri Ristorante is owned by reputed Chicago mob soldier Philip (Gigi) Rovito, who wasn’t one of the combatants over the weekend.

The so-called Sarno Boys is a group of more than two dozen Outfit figures mentored and “made” into the mafia in the 2000s by imprisoned 67-year old former Chicago mob don Michael (Large Mike) Sarno and just recently given significant authority in day-to-day overall Outfit management, allege sources on both sides of the law. Many of the most prominent Sarno Boys seek and receive counsel from the infirmed, wheelchair-bound “Large Mike” in phone calls and visits, as he finishes out the last half of a two-and-a-half decade federal prison bid related to an extortion plot in a prison hospital in Missouri, claim sources. Several of the Sarno Boys are alums of the 12th Street Players street gang in Cicero and in the 1980s and 1990s butted heads with Rooster, with one situation culminating with Rooster trashing a bar owned by a leader of the 12th Street Players, according to sources. These same sources say Rooster currently shares rackets with Outfit members in the Grand Avenue crew regime.

I am thinking this fight took place two doors down in the Are We Live lounge. If it was late at night the restaurant would have been closed by then, as the lounge stays open till 2 am.

thx for the post rush. a few thoughts about article.

can GR just use proper accepted terms when describing the outfit for once. "the sarno boys" really? the sarno street crew or sarno faction would have worked. i guess of course unless they are now indeed a new street gang called "the sarno boys." i do not doubt the existence of such a group but simplify the terms is all.

as far as the LK goes i am in know way knowledgeable about them. have really only been getting my head around c-notes and 12th street players lately. from a couple sources though i have found the membership of the LK in just chicago is 25 000!!! is that right? even if its not i think its fair to say they have membership in chicago area in the 1000s.

the LK are allied with the people nation as opposed to folk nation? does this still hold true?
12th street at one time was allied with people nation as well?

c-notes were allied with folk nation. does this still hold?

i ask out of total curiosity as the chicago gang scene is interesting both historically and how it does or doesnt line up with active crews in the outfit.

if the 2 street gangs, 12th street players and c-notes allie themselves with different 'nations' so to speak how does this work in the context of the outfit?

Good points Vito. Seems like the modern day outfit has been doing business with the Latin Kings for many years in different rackets. More than likely drugs and prostitution, along with some extortion and of course auto theft/burglary crews.

I would not be surprised if the Cicero crew has been extorting hispanic owned businesses in Cicero with the help of the LK.

Wow!

So the Chicago Outfit (all 3 remaining members), are now locked in a bloody "War" with the Latin Kings? Thats some crazy shit! This has got to be the most significant gangland battle in the last fifty years, no?

Have there been any reports of vicious beatings, shootings and fire bombings yet? Like what was reported as gospel this past year in New York between rival Bonanno Family factions?

Because you do know thats what coming next, right? You guys remember, don't you? lol.
