Chicago Mafia’s Cicero Crew Beefing With Latin Kings & Things Turned Violent Last Weekend
March 27, 2025 — Bad blood between a volatile, recently-empowered faction of Chicago mobsters and Latin King gang members dating back decades erupted into fisticuffs at a popular suburban Windy City Italian restaurant this past Saturday night, per exclusive sources. The altercation allegedly took place at Capri Ristorante in Burr Ridge, a regular haunt for high-ranking button men in the Outfit’s Cicero and Elmwood Park crews, and involved the Cicero crew’s “Sarno Boys” group and a Latin Kings shot caller they call “Rooster,” according to first-hand sources on-the-scene at the dust up. Hands were thrown late Saturday evening after one of the Cicero crew members became irritated when Rooster reportedly got drunk and began acting belligerent towards patrons and restaurant staff and confronted him about it. Capri Ristorante is owned by reputed Chicago mob soldier Philip (Gigi) Rovito, who wasn’t one of the combatants over the weekend.
The so-called Sarno Boys is a group of more than two dozen Outfit figures mentored and “made” into the mafia in the 2000s by imprisoned 67-year old former Chicago mob don Michael (Large Mike) Sarno and just recently given significant authority in day-to-day overall Outfit management, allege sources on both sides of the law. Many of the most prominent Sarno Boys seek and receive counsel from the infirmed, wheelchair-bound “Large Mike” in phone calls and visits, as he finishes out the last half of a two-and-a-half decade federal prison bid related to an extortion plot in a prison hospital in Missouri, claim sources. Several of the Sarno Boys are alums of the 12th Street Players street gang in Cicero and in the 1980s and 1990s butted heads with Rooster, with one situation culminating with Rooster trashing a bar owned by a leader of the 12th Street Players, according to sources. These same sources say Rooster currently shares rackets with Outfit members in the Grand Avenue crew regime.
