THE WOMAN IN THE YARD

After surviving a car accident that took her husbands life and left her injured, single mother of 2 Ramona (Danielle Deadwyler) is visited by a mysterious woman dressed and covered in black in her front yard. The family has no idea who the woman is, how or why she's on their property. And as the sun begins to set, the woman slowly moves closer to the house. Who is she and what could she possibly want? I will need to see this again as I thought on it long after the final credits rolled. The story moves at just the right pace, not too fast but also not too slow. Without spoiling the movie, the themes and what the woman represents I believe are important to discuss and I continue to applaud Hollywood for attempting to take away the stigma of those conversations. This is the type of movie where you'll pick up additional pieces with each subsequent viewing. 6.5/10
