Pro-Gaza protest in Washington draws thousands despite crackdown
An anti-war protest is under way near the White House that includes a number of Jewish groups
Demonstrators also highlighted the fact that people who previously protested the Gaza genocide have been taken away by US immigration authorities and detained
Mariam Osman, from the Palestinian Youth Movement, said thousands of people are attending the rally, showing people aren’t being swayed by the government crackdown

What we’re seeing is the escalation of the genocide in Gaza, funded and paid for by this US administration, which at the same time is cutting medicare, cutting essential services to working people in the US and abducting people on the street for speaking out against genocide”
Osman noted a recent poll found only 15 percent of Americans support sending more military aid to Israel, a sign times are changing
