When President Donald Trump withdrew Representative Elise Stefanik’s nomination to be US ambassador to the United Nations, according to two Republican sources with knowledge of the deliberations, she was given private assurances that:
1. she would not only rejoin the House GOP leadership team,
2. but also reclaim her coveted spot on the House Intelligence Committee,

Two weeks later, the conundrum for Speaker Mike Johnson, still scrambling to figure out how to deliver on the promise to place her back on the committee, even after the move was announced publicly Wednesday.

Wish they would renominate her
