Anti-mafia operation 'Nuovo Corso' in Palermo, police arrested 12 members of the Noce mandamento on charges of mafia-type association, extortion, drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons; among the arrested the boss Renzo Lo Nigro and the emergent Giuseppe Romagnolo.
according to police there was a friction between Lo Nigro and Romagnolo, who was made 'acting boss' by the imprisoned for life boss Raffaele Ganci while Lo Nigro was in prison. Lo Nigro didn't accept that decision.
